Job summary

Parratt-Wolff, Inc. in Watsontown, PA is seeking a Project Manager with a consulting engineering or geology background to lead field operations for geotechnical and environmental drilling projects.

The role involves preparing cost estimates, submittals, coordinating field crews, ensuring safety, client relationship development, and reporting. Must have five years of PM experience and knowledge of drill rigs, pumps, and well development.

Responsibilities

• Prepare job cost estimates and written proposals, including client submittals.
• Prepare and submit required project submittals (permits, insurance, etc.).
• Create job details (load lists) and provide field crews with necessary information.
• Identify and relay health and safety requirements for crews and managers.
• Support safety policy and participate in safety meetings.
• Coordinate with operations manager to ensure materials/tools are available.
• Assist in loading equipment and inspecting field crews/sites.
• Inspect and log soil samples and prepare boring reports.
• Prepare project invoices and progress reports.
• Market and sell services to build new client relationships.
• Leverage existing relationships for additional work opportunities.

Job description

Parratt-Wolff, Inc., a geotechnical and environmental drilling firm is looking to add a project manager to their Watsontown team. The ideal candidate will have a consulting engineering or geology background with demonstrated experience/interest in field operations. Previous experience around drill rigs, pumps, packers and well development projects is required.

This position entails

• Preparation of job cost estimates and written proposals including all required client submittals.
• Preparation and submittal of all required project submittals such as, but not limited to, well permit applications, road opening permit applications, certificate of insurance requests, etc.
• Preparation of job specific details (load lists) and provide field crew with all necessary information for successful job completion, in written and/or graphical form as necessary.
• Ensures that project specific health and safety requirements are identified and relayed to all crew members and managers.
• Actively supports corporate safety policy and culture by attending all safety meetings, holds project specific safety meetings and assists with the implementation of the Company safety program.
• Coordinate with operations manager to ensure necessary materials and tooling will be available (either by ordering or schedule coordination) at the required time.
• Assist in the loading of company equipment and inspects field crews and job sites as necessary to ensure successful project completion.
• Inspect and log soil samples and prepare test borings reports and other project documentation as needed.
• Preparation of project invoices and progress reports.
• Market and sell company services to build new client relationships. Capitalize on existing relationships to gain additional work opportunities.

Job Requirements

The ideal candidate has

• Basic knowledge of geology and geotechnical engineering
• Basic knowledge of the environmental consulting industry

• The ability to self-motivate, manage multiple tasks, and possess good time management skills.
• Field experience with working around drill rigs and construction equipment.
• Proficient with working on a computer and using Microsoft programs.

Qualifications

• Any combination of education and work experience that will permit the candidate to fulfill the job description.
• A valid Pennsylvania driver’s license with acceptable driving record per company minimum standards.
• Must obtain and maintain all mandatory licenses and training.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to occasionally work in field environment with exposure to dust, noise, inclement weather conditions and extreme temperatures.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain.
• Ability to lift and carry 80-pounds 50’ in distance repeatedly throughout a workday.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment.
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
• Ability to use standard office equipment to include computers, copiers, faxes, etc.
• Ability to frequently use hands for typing, filing, and performing other administrative duties
