Job description

Cornell Human Ecology explores the complexity of human life. We bring together a wide range of perspectives to understand the full context of the human experience and improve lives at every scale, from cells to society. Our research and academic programs focus on the interaction of humans with their biological, economic, social and physical environments. Using Cornell's far-reaching extension network and the college's translational research methods, we deliver our findings directly to communities and families, ensuring that our work reaches those who need it most.

The Opportunity

Health Behaviors Lab: The Health Behaviors Lab conducts community-engaged research to understand and improve the behaviors and environments that shape health and well-being. Our work focuses on nutrition, physical activity, and other health behaviors, with particular attention to children, families, caregivers, and the early childhood workforce. We partner with communities, practitioners, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and evaluate interventions that are responsive to real-world needs and can be translated into programs, practice, and policy. Our research draws on behavioral, intervention, and implementation science and uses a range of quantitative, qualitative, and technology-enabled methods. Across projects, our goal is to conduct research that is driven by communities, rigorous in its methods, and intended to create knowledge that others can use to improve health and reduce inequities. What You Will Do

The Project Manager will serve as an integral member of the Health Behaviors Lab and will work under the direction of the HBL Director, Dr. Laura Bellows, to coordinate and support multiple research projects focused on health behaviors and community-based interventions. The Project Manager will oversee day-to-day project activities, coordinate timelines and deliverables, communicate with community partners and research participants, and organize and delegate project tasks to undergraduate and graduate student researchers.

The Project Manager will contribute to all phases of the research process, including developing and testing study materials, resources, and intervention components; participant recruitment and data collection; data management and analysis; and preparation of manuscripts, abstracts, presentations, and reports. The position will coordinate human subjects research activities, including preparing and maintaining Institutional Review Board (IRB) submissions, modifications, and study documentation, and supporting adherence to approved protocols and research requirements.

The Project Manager will also contribute to the development of grant applications and other research proposals and help establish systems and procedures that support efficient implementation of the Lab's research portfolio. Working across multiple projects, the Project Manager will collaborate closely with Dr. Bellows, students, research collaborators, community partners, and other stakeholders to ensure that research activities and deliverables are completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
