Job summary

Roadtex Transportation, now part of Echo Global Logistics, seeks a Project Manager to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced 3PL setting. You will provide structure, oversight, and governance to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities.

You will partner with leaders, stakeholders, and frontline teams to define goals, manage resources, and track progress while driving accountability and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of experience in project management, operations, or continuous improvement.
• Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or transportation preferred.
• PMI/Agile/Scrum certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.
• Lead project teams in execution of initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and risks to keep initiatives on track.
• Establish and maintain project charters, status reports, and governance routines.
• Facilitate regular project reviews and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
• Track and communicate project milestones, KPIs, and outcomes to leadership.
• Partner with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project alignment.
• Facilitate cross-functional meetings and manage project communications.
• Identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive resolution.
• Collaborate with Continuous Improvement to embed Lean and best practices.
• Support change management and adoption of new processes or systems.
• Promote standardization and scalability of solutions across warehouse and transportation operations.
• Align project initiatives with the CI roadmap and operational strategy.
• Provide insights on project prioritization and contribute to playbooks.

Roadtex Transportation has become a leader in the nationwide LTL industry, specializing in transporting time and temperature-sensitive products. We handle refrigerated and LTL needs by leveraging no sailing schedules, our nationwide network of 32 strategically placed temperature-controlled facilities, our state-of-the-art tracking, and our specialized equipment and warehousing capabilities. In 2022, Roadtex was acquired by Echo Global Logistics. The acquisition brings a truckload brokerage and expanded transportation management solutions to Roadtex's customers while providing Echo with our national warehouse footprint and advanced temperature-controlled transportation solutions.

Position Summary

The Project Manager is responsible for leading cross-functional initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, service quality, and customer satisfaction in a fast-paced 3PL environment. This role provides structure, oversight, and governance to ensure that strategic and operational projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with business priorities. The Project Manager partners with leaders, stakeholders, and frontline teams to define project goals, manage resources, and track progress while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Planning & Execution
  • Define project scope, goals, deliverables, timelines, and resource needs.
  • Lead project teams in execution of initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and risks to keep initiatives on track.
• Governance & Documentation
  • Establish and maintain project charters, status reports, and governance routines.
  • Facilitate regular project reviews and ensure documentation is accurate and up to date.
  • Track and communicate project milestones, KPIs, and outcomes to leadership.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
  • Partner with internal teams, clients, and vendors to ensure project alignment.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings and manage project communications.
  • Proactively identify risks, issues, and dependencies, and drive resolution.
• Process Improvement & Change Management
  • Collaborate with Continuous Improvement to embed Lean and best practices into project execution.
  • Support change management by engaging stakeholders, addressing resistance, and ensuring adoption of new processes or systems.
  • Promote standardization and scalability of solutions across warehouse and transportation operations.
• Support to CI & Operations
  • Align project initiatives with the CI roadmap and operational strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on project prioritization.
  • Contribute to playbooks, governance frameworks, and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Project Management, or related field (preferred).
• 1-3 years of experience in project management, operations, or continuous improvement.
• Prior experience in logistics, warehousing, distribution, or transportation strongly preferred.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or Agile/Scrum certification a plus.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid).
• Proficiency in project management tools (Smartsheet, MS Project, Asana, or similar).
• Excellent facilitation, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

• Travel to warehouse and transportation sites as required (up to 20%).
• Combination of office and operational floor environments.
• Flexibility to support multiple shifts or extended hours to meet project deadlines.
