Seasats seeks an organized Project Manager to own end-to-end execution of projects for government and commercial customers. You will manage plans, schedules, budgets, and customer relationships to ensure on-time delivery and satisfaction.
Responsibilities include defining scope, coordinating matrixed teams, and delivering detailed project documentation. You will travel 25-35% for customer-facing events, with a travel stipend provided.
Location: San Diego, California
Compensation: $110,000 - 140,000 USD / year
At Seasats, the Project Manager is accountable for the successful execution of the company's external and internal projects. You will own the plan, the schedule, the budget, and the customer relationship on execution matters for projects ranging from complex customer contracts to participation in government and military exercises.
You coordinate complex and enduring projects, tasking and monitoring matrixed personnel from Engineering, Production, Fleet Operations, and Business Development who are assigned to your project but report to their own functional managers. Your job is to keep the plan, the schedule, the budget, and the customer aligned and moving forward.
As one of Seasats' primary points of accountability to the customer on contract execution, you'll work directly with government and military customers while coordinating internally across Engineering, Production, Fleet Operations, and Business Development. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on ownership, enjoys bringing structure to complex programs, and wants to help deliver autonomous maritime systems for missions that matter.
If you like being the person who makes sure the project goes to plan, on schedule, on budget, and to the customer's satisfaction, we'd love to hear from you.
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Typical projects might include:
You are an organized, accountable Project Manager who enjoys owning outcomes rather than just tasks. You're comfortable managing a budget and a schedule with the same rigor you bring to a customer relationship, and you know how to get results from people who don't report to you.
You enjoy working with government and military customers, coordinating across engineering and operations teams, and being the person who's ultimately answerable for whether a project succeeds. You have:
This position will require you to travel away from home and even outside the US for short periods of time; travel could consist of 25-35% for customer facing events and visits. Seasats provides a travel stipend while you're on the road, so you can expect to save money while on work trips.
In addition, it's nice (though not essential) if you have:
At Seasats, we're passionate about delivering maritime robotics solutions to redefine the maritime industry. Our primary products are unmanned surface vehicles (USVs), designed to carry sensors at sea for months at a time. Our USVs provide persistent monitoring and data acquisition to defense, scientific, and commercial customers, and have autonomously crossed both the Pacific and Atlantic oceans. After thousands of years in which the only way to gather information from the ocean was to put people on a boat, these uncrewed vessels are transforming how humanity monitors and interacts with the ocean. Here, you'll find the space and opportunity to do your life's best work.
Along with your salary, you'll receive perks including:
