Supplier Call Notes

This is a true support role supporting senior PMs on the AMI 2.0 program. The selected candidate will take daily direction from the assigned PM and help drive action items, tracking, coordination, and follow-up activities rather than independently leading projects.

The manager is seeking a junior IT Project Manager with approximately 3+ years of experience. Candidates with more experience may still be considered, but the preference is for someone who is developing their PM career rather than a highly senior PM or executive-level professional.

Candidates who are currently:

  • Transitioning from a Project Coordinator role into Project Management,
  • A senior Project Coordinator ready for the next step, or
  • An aspiring Project Manager with experience supporting smaller projects,

are encouraged.

Experience supporting technical/IT projects is preferred, particularly software-related initiatives; however, candidates with primarily business-project experience will still be considered if they demonstrate strong PM fundamentals, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly.

Utility industry and AMI experience are considered pluses but are not required.

Required tool experience is relatively straightforward. Candidates should have:
  • Intermediate proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Experience navigating SharePoint
  • General familiarity with project documentation and version control concepts
  • Awareness of process diagrams (Visio experience is not required)
  • Experience with Octane and T-Hub is not required. Training and job aids will be provided as needed.

No specific certifications are required. PMP or other PM certifications may be viewed positively but are not prerequisites for consideration.

The manager emphasized the importance of candidates being:
  • Quick learners
  • Able to work with minimal direction after an initial onboarding period
  • Comfortable supporting multiple IT workstreams and stakeholders

This role will interact with various teams, including application, infrastructure, integration, and other IT support groups. The candidate will primarily support coordination and follow-up activities rather than leading technical discussions.

Interviews will be conducted virtually and on camera. Initial interviews are expected to be 15-30 minutes, with a potential second round depending on outcomes.
