Job summary

UL Solutions is seeking a Project Manager to lead transformational projects within Commercial Excellence in a hybrid work setting, including on-site days in Northbrook/Chicago, Raleigh, NC, or other UL locations. You’ll drive design, planning, change management, and IT delivery with cross-functional senior leadership.

The role requires 4+ years in project management, effective communication, and ability to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences. Strong leadership is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field; PMP, Prince 2 and/or Agile certification preferred but not required.
• 4+ years of project management experience.
• Experience with project and portfolio management tools such as Visio, MS Project, Clarity.
• Strong project management and team leadership skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with sponsor reporting and escalation experience.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong facilitation, collaboration, negotiation and presentation skills.
• Ability to anticipate risks and devise in-the-moment solutions.
• Resilient team player comfortable with pressure, ambiguity, and change.
• Understanding of current and future business goals and IT issues.

• Manage stakeholders communications and governance adherence.
• Plan and monitor overall project progress across lifecycle.
• Manage project budget and financial performance.
• Coordinate projects and interdependencies; allocate resources.
• Align deliverables with project outcomes with business change support.

Job description

This role is hybrid on-site (3) days a week from our Northbrook/Chicago, IL, Raleigh, NC or other ULS locations in the US

The Project Manager will work on supporting the team of the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and be responsible for leading transformational projects within Commercial Excellence. These projects will be alongside the Senior Leadership Team of CE, creating a new center of expertise within the business, and impacting CE, as well as external teams within UL Solutions. You will lead efforts of the project to deliver these high impact projects, including process transformation and large-scale IT deliveries. Successful candidates will be ready for a fast-paced environment leading teams through project design, planning, change management, execution and more.

• Managing the implementation of small to medium projects.

• Provides overall leadership and support to project team members.

• Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.

• Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly.

• Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders, and with Finance and develops ROI, IRR and other financial measures.

• Manages stakeholders' communication and escalates accordingly.

• Adheres to program and project governance (controls).

• Plans the overall project and monitors the progress and performs Daily project management throughout the project's life cycle.

• Manages the projects budget and financial performance.

• Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies.

• Manages and utilizes resources.

• Aligns the deliverables (outputs) to the project's outcome with the aid of the business change manager.

• Read and follow the UL Solutions Code of Conduct and follow all physical and digital security practices.

• Performs other duties as directed.

• Bachelor's degree in business or related field PMP, Prince 2 and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required).

• 4+ years of project management experience.

What we offer:

• We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000-$90,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary.
