The PM1 may manage smaller projects or assigned portions of larger projects, with oversight appropriate to project complexity and experience. The PM1 reports to the Group Manager and is expected to proactively communicate project risks, cost impacts, schedule concerns, changing conditions, and issues that may create a scope or cost deviation from the original project plan.

II. Essential Functions
Project Coordination & Stakeholder Communication
  • Support assigned bridge construction, rehabilitation, and structural projects from preconstruction through final completion.
  • Manage smaller projects or defined project scopes under the direction of the Group Manager or designated senior project manager.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders regarding assigned project activities.
  • Maintain positive working relationships through responsive communication, accurate documentation, and timely follow-through.
  • Participate in project meetings, document decisions and action items, and coordinate follow-up with responsible team members.
  • Regularly communicate project status, outstanding needs, risks, and significant issues to project leadership.
Estimating, Preconstruction & Contract Administration

  • Obtain and organize subcontractor, supplier, material, trucking, and equipment rental quotes; assist in evaluating pricing, scope coverage, exclusions, and delivery requirements.
  • Help identify scope gaps, constructability concerns, long-lead materials, and potential cost or schedule impacts for review with project leadership.
  • Assist with internal pre-job and owner preconstruction meetings, including preparation of project information, startup documentation, and action items.
  • Prepare and maintain subcontracts, purchase orders, RFIs, submittals, change-order documentation, and project correspondence for review and approval.
  • Coordinate the submission and tracking of material certifications, shop drawings, concrete mix designs, and other required project submittals.
  • Support project closeout, including punch-list tracking, final quantities, required records, and outstanding contract items.
Project Controls & Financial Management

  • Track labor, equipment, materials, quantities, and subcontractor costs against the estimate and current project budget.
  • Review HCSS HeavyJob, CGC, and field reports for cost, payroll, equipment, quantity, and production accuracy; coordinate corrections with field leadership.
  • Assist with monthly ECAC and cost-to-complete forecasts, documenting committed costs, remaining work, and potential changes for review with project leadership.
  • Identify cost and production variances and support the development and tracking of corrective actions.
  • Prepare supporting documentation and pricing for change orders, additional work, and T&M/force-account activities.
  • Assist with progress billings, quantity reconciliation, invoice review, accounts receivable follow-up, and final financial closeout.
  • Obtain appropriate review and approval before making commitments affecting project scope, cost, schedule, or contract terms.
Bridge Construction & Field Coordination
