Job summary

Dircks Moving & Logistics seeks an experienced Project Manager to oversee relocation projects remotely and on-site as required. You will coordinate resources, supervise crews, and ensure client satisfaction from planning through final billing.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED, or 3–5 years related experience.
  • Ability to read/write/speak clearly and present information to individuals or groups.
  • Experience in moving/logistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a pre-move job site inspection.
  • Executes relocation plans and revises as needed to meet client needs.
  • Identify resources required up front for a successful customer experience.
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project.
  • Ensure total quality control on the jobsite.
  • Communicate with customer, salesman, and operations.
  • Oversee safety policies and vehicle operation.
  • Attend post-move meetings and ensure client satisfaction.

Job Description: Project Manager

Location: Remote

What You Will Be Doing
  • Perform a pre-move job site inspection (with or without the salesperson).
  • Executes relocation plans, and revises where appropriate to meet the changing needs and requirements of the customer.
  • Identifies the resources needed up front for a successful customer experience.
  • Ensures that any changes to the scope of the move happen effectively and efficiently.
  • Manages day to day operational aspects of the project, and the scope of work involved.
  • Identifies business development and add-on sales opportunities as they relate to the specific project and future needs.
  • Ensures total quality control on the jobsite.
  • Communicates effectively with customer, salesman, and operations.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism on jobsite at all times.
  • Ensures project documents are complete and properly signed prior to commencing the move, and also at completion to ensure timely accurate billing and revenue collection.
  • Assures that any changes orders are correctly executed.
  • Is responsible for all equipment and material used on jobsite.
  • Responsible for the complete, accurate reporting of crew hours.
  • This person will follow all safety policies as they relate to the Dircks Moving Services handbook.
  • Oversee the safe operation of all DMS vehicles.
  • This individual is required to attend post-move meeting on all jobs.
  • Assures client satisfaction at the completion of the project.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Directly supervises 60-100 employees on the Local Crew. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include Assigns men work according to location, truck, or building. Monitors job progress throughout the day by visual inspection. Able to make decisions on the jobsite that will benefit the customer as well as the company.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office word processing software, and company used systems.
