Job summary

Copper River Family of Companies is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager to lead complex projects across Florida, Georgia, and Alabama, including work at Tyndall Air Force Base and NSA-PC in Panama City, FL. You’ll coordinate cross‑functional teams, manage budgets, and drive safety and quality on active sites.

This role requires 5–10 years in construction management and a PMP, with travel ~10–15%.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or 10-15 years of construction field/trade experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • PMI/PMP certification in good standing is preferred
  • Valid driver's license; ability to obtain a passport and base access
  • Ability to obtain and retain required base access
  • 5-10 years of construction and estimating experience
  • 4-7 years of diverse experience in construction management, facility management, and renovation
  • Ability to read and interpret complex construction specifications, drawings, and project documents
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with government personnel, clients, architects, and subcontractors
  • Experience leading and developing trade contractors and subcontractors
  • Experience with installation of IT and security systems
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Ability to manage projects under tight deadlines
  • Ability to develop detailed line-item estimates using an estimating database
  • Experience supporting projects across multiple locations
  • Strong OSHA knowledge

Job description

Coho Construction Management is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager to join our construction management team supporting projects throughout the Florida, Georgia, and Alabama regions. This position will support projects at Tyndall Air Force Base and Naval Support Facility (NSA-PC) in Panama City, Florida, as well as other regional projects.

The Construction Project Manager will collaborate closely with project teams, subcontractors, clients, architects, and government representatives to support successful project execution across multiple sites. This is a key leadership role for a candidate who thrives in complex project environments and brings a hands‑on, proactive approach to infrastructure delivery. Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% is preferred.

Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Provide project management and construction supervision services for security and security‑related installations, including customer and site coordination, subcontractor management, sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and cost control.
  • Provide pre-installation and pre‑construction services to ensure client needs are addressed throughout project development.
  • Support project teams with scope development and project planning.
  • Participate in design reviews and value‑engineering exercises to promote efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Support project teams throughout execution to ensure accurate, timely, and successful completion of project requirements.
  • Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies to maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Review constructability issues and develop alternative means and methods to resolve construction challenges.
  • Prepare, manage, and monitor project execution budgets.
  • Provide construction management expertise in support of existing projects and new business opportunities.
  • Coordinate with government personnel, clients, architects, subcontractors, and other project stakeholders to facilitate successful project execution.
  • Lead, develop, and coordinate trade contractors and subcontractors throughout project activities.
  • Support project site visits, inspections, and other field activities as required.
Essential Job Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Education and Certifications:
    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or 10-15 years of construction field/trade experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree

    • Strong organizational skills, self‑motivation, and effective time management
    • Ability to manage projects under tight deadlines and demanding schedules
    • Ability to develop detailed, line‑item estimates using an established estimating database
    • Experience supporting construction projects across multiple geographic locations
    • Strong knowledge of and commitment to enforcing OSHA safety regulations
    • Strong mathematical and computer skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
    • Ability to navigate active construction sites efficiently and safely
    • Strong attention to detail and problem‑solving capabilities
    • Familiarity with RMS and ProjNet systems is a plus
    • Direct experience delivering U.S. military construction and infrastructure projects
  • Travel:
    • The position requires the ability to travel for project site visits, inspections, and other project‑related activities as required. Willingness to travel approximately 10-15% is preferred
  • Work Environment:
    • This position operates in construction management and active construction site environments and requires regular interaction with project teams, government personnel, clients, architects, subcontractors, and trade contractors.
