The Electrical Project Manager is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating electrical construction projects from inception through completion. This position ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards while maintaining strong customer relationships.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
- Manage multiple electrical construction projects simultaneously.
- Review project plans, specifications, contracts, and estimates.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and milestones.
- Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Coordinate project startup, execution, and closeout activities.
- Manage project budgets and profitability.
- Track labor productivity and material costs.
- Prepare monthly cost forecasts and financial reports.
- Review and approve project billings and invoices.
- Identify, price, negotiate, and process change orders.
- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable.
Procurement & Resource Management
- Coordinate material procurement and equipment requirements.
- Work closely with purchasing personnel to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Assist with manpower planning and workforce allocation.
- Coordinate subcontractors and vendors.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, general contractors, engineers, and suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and communicate project status.
- Build and maintain positive customer relationships.
- Resolve project-related issues and conflicts promptly.
Safety & Quality
- Promote and enforce company safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical codes and regulations.
- Conduct site visits to verify quality, productivity, and safety performance.
- Support field personnel with technical and operational issues.
Documentation & Reporting
- Manage RFIs, submittals, permits, inspections, and project documentation.
- Maintain accurate project records and reports.
- Prepare project status updates for management.
- Ensure all closeout documentation is completed and submitted.
Qualifications
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred.
- Equivalent electrical construction experience may be substituted.
Experience
- 5+ years of electrical construction experience.
- Strong understanding of electrical systems, construction methods, and industry standards.
