Job description

Description

The responsibility of the Project Manager is to ensure the success of the project in terms of cost, schedule, and quality control. To maintain a successful project, the Project Manager will be required to:

  • Become familiar with construction documents once awarded and manage the hand off from preconstruction team. This includes establishing a budget with cost codes for inclusion into the accounting software.
  • Become proficient with the accounting software to track the financial performance of the project. Project Manager will be required to present the financial performance of the project on a regular basis during the project to other team members.
  • Be responsible for project management tasks including material and subcontractor buy-out, reviewing equipment submittals, and other misc. tasks.
  • Become familiar with and help progress the prefab process to:
    • review prefab documents before assembly begins.
    • monitor progress of the prefab.
    • monitor deliveries to the field.
  • Lead project team to assign appropriate labor values to work-packages and track them.
  • Produce documentation for billing through the accounting department on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinate with GC and PMEP team members for any requests for information concerning the project.
  • Prepare for and attend weekly project meetings.
  • Generate RFI’s and change order proposal as needed for the project.
  • Become proficient with the use of Bluebeam Revu/Studio & BIM 360 Docs to keep construction documents & shop drawings up to date for the field crew in a cloud-based format.
  • Aid team with conflict resolution in the field.
  • Create conceptual estimates when necessary for electrical systems. Work with sales & engineering to gather data needed to create cost options for clients.
  • Become proficient with Trimble ACCU‑bid software to perform take‑off & estimating of cost for electrical systems.
  • Generate cost proposals & maintain bid schedule for communication with internal teammates & clients. This will include major projects and small retrofits brought through our service department. Tasks include but are not limited to:
    • Become familiar with bid documents.
    • Attend required walkthroughs of potential projects.
    • Examine specifications and other supplementary information in the bid package to understand all requirements of the project.
    • Output cost spreadsheets for review by the team.
    • Coordinate with GC, architect, and other design team members as part of the bidding process.
