Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. is seeking a seasoned project leader to manage and direct our heavy civil projects. This role focuses on coordinating the project team, maintaining budgets and schedules, and ensuring safety and compliance across all project activities.

You will mentor staff, report to senior management, and liaise with clients to meet project goals. A strong work ethic and ability to navigate diverse job sites are essential.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration, or equivalent construction-related experience.
• 10yrs of heavy civil construction experience.
• Experience supervising multiple project engineers.
• Heavy Civil Construction background/experience.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Safety oriented, 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred.
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• Ability to function as a team-builder/player.
• The ability to freely access all points of a construction site in wide-ranging climates and environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing and directing the project team to meet project goals and objectives.
• Maintaining ongoing training and mentoring of the project team.
• Directly responsible to senior management.
• Providing ongoing project information and reviews as required by management.
• Coordinating training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed.
• Ensuring scope, schedule, and budget are defined and understood by senior management and clients.
• Maintaining schedules and budgets and tracking progress against milestones.
• Securing approvals for changes in scope, budget or schedule.
• Maintaining ongoing communication with the client and adjusting deliverables as needed.

• Maintains ongoing communication with client, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client's needs within contractual obligations, or adjusting project deliverables to meet the client andBarnard's needs.
