Job summary

Plant Construction Company L.P. seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead complex construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. You will liaise with clients, architects and inspectors, maintain schedules, manage change orders and ensure safety and quality on site.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years' experience, strong communication and IT skills, and proficiency with MS Project/Primavera, Procore and BIM processes. Salary range reflects the seniority and exempt status.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in CM/CE/Architecture required.
  • Minimum 5 years construction-related experience.
  • Excellent English verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with listed software is required.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in pre-construction activities as needed.
  • Interface with clients, architects, consultants and inspectors.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules; manage change orders.
  • Coordinate with on-site contractors and material deliveries.
  • Control subcontractor performance and track costs.

Job description

We would like to add an experienced Project Manager to our team to work within the established culture and guidelines of the Company. Qualified candidates will have strong communication and IT skills, leadership potential and at least 5 years of prior experience managing challenging projects.

Position Title: Project Manager

Reports To: Operations Manager

Status: Exempt

Required Experience: 5+ years

Salary Range: $130,000 to 160,000

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Participate in pre‑construction activities as needed
  • Act as liaison with the client, architect, consultants, and the Department of Building Inspection
  • Interface with site supervisors; look for and implement innovative construction methods
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules
  • Prepare project documents– client change orders, subcontracts, subcontractor change orders, meeting minutes, letters, memorandums, notices, etc.
  • Coordinating with onsite contractors in planning and coordinating the stages of connecting new systems with existing utility systems
  • Control and monitor subcontractors and monitor their performance
  • Manage cost changes, track legitimate change orders requests, compile fair pricing for work and forecast financial results accurately
  • Review and expedite submittals and materials, as well as monitor critical material items and deliveries
  • Maintain quality control and production efficiency
  • Maintain immediate and direct responsibility for production phases of the project; resolve production problems
  • Oversee that jobsite safety procedures are being followed
  • Provide feedback on production costs to the Estimating Department
  • Develop and lead the market research execution plan for product design alternatives that fit project budget and design intent
  • Create the design/procurement execution plans that fulfill contractual project scope obligations and provide potential cost saving
  • design and energy efficient solutions based on current sub tier (supplier, manufacturer) market trends
  • Establish project protocols and develop plans to organize and communicate product literature, O&M manuals, RFI’s and submittals
  • associated with design clarification and product substitutions to all design stakeholders on the project
  • Create the BIM execution plans aligned cohesively with design documents, subcontractor design‑build trades and constructability constraints

Minimum Skills or Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor college degree, in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Architecture is required
  • Advanced degree or training favored
  • Minimum of five (5) years construction‑related experience is required
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills and effective interpersonal skills
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is required:
  • MS Project or Primavera 6 for project scheduling
  • Sage Timberline Estimating and Project Management and/or Procore for Construction Management
  • On‑Screen Takeoff - construction estimating and takeoff solutions for contractors
  • Precision - estimating software where we put all our estimate line items
  • Microsoft 365 – Outlook (email) and cloud‑based suite of productivity application like MS Teams
  • Bluebeam – for PDF markup and collaboration tool
  • Docusign – Electronic signature and agreement
  • Working knowledge and experience with the following software and programs is preferred:
  • AutoCAD for schematic design and presentations and project layout
  • BIM for clash detection
  • V‑Planner – knowledge in V‑Planner (comprehensive solution for production planning and it supports the workflows of the Last Planner® System (LPS))
