Job summary

Cordoba Corporation is seeking a Project Manager to lead municipal infrastructure and library facility projects in the Los Angeles area. You will oversee the full lifecycle from planning through construction, coordinating with architects, engineers, and public agencies to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

The role emphasizes risk management, environmental permitting, and effective stakeholder communication, with hybrid work in a dynamic public sector environment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years (PM I) of project management and concurrent field construction experience.
  • Licensed professional or Certified Construction Manager (CCM).
  • Education background in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Work experience in project planning and development.
  • Ability to independently manage all aspects of a project.
  • Ability to develop and control project scope.
  • Ability to develop and maintain project budgets.
  • Ability to develop and review project schedules.
  • Skilled in reviewing and coordinating the preparation of construction documents.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate project team and client meetings.
  • Ability to effectively negotiate and prepare change orders.

Responsibilities

  • Identify project risks, evaluate impacts, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and regulators.
  • Review design documents and construction packages for compliance.
  • Support environmental review and permitting processes including CEQA and NEPA.
  • Facilitate project meetings and report progress to management and clients.
  • Monitor construction activities and ensure work aligns with plans and contracts.
  • Review RFIs, submittals, pay applications, and change orders.
  • Negotiate and prepare contract modifications and change orders.
  • Coordinate approvals, inspections, and close-out documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects while maintaining quality, safety, and compliance.
  • Support procurement and project delivery methods including Design-Bid-Build and JOC.
  • Ensure compliance with Public Contracting Code and industry best practices.
  • Troubleshoot challenges and maintain project momentum and stakeholder satisfaction.
  • Maintain accurate project records and reporting throughout lifecycle.

Overview

Cordoba Corporation is a leading engineering and design firm based in California. We are seeking a Project Manager to join our Facilities Sector. TheProject Manager willhelp manage projects on behalf of LAC Public Library overseeing the day-to-day execution, timeline and delivery of facility alterations and sustainability infrastructure projects, including Solar and EV charging projects. The candidate will champion Library’s interests while coordinating with the project team and library staff. The candidate will help identify project risks, troubleshoot and resolve problems to ensure successful outcomes.


Responsibilities


  • Manage the full lifecycle of municipal infrastructure and library facility improvement projects, from planning and design through construction and project close-out.

  • Oversee day-to-day execution of facility alteration, sustainability, solar energy, and EV charging infrastructure projects.

  • Act as the Library's representative and advocate by coordinating project goals, requirements, and operational needs with internal staff and external stakeholders.

  • Develop, monitor, and control project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful project outcomes.

  • Identify project risks, evaluate impacts, and implement mitigation strategies to address issues before they affect schedule or budget.

  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, utility providers, and regulatory agencies throughout project delivery.

  • Review design documents, plans, specifications, and construction packages for compliance with project requirements and applicable standards.

  • Support environmental review and permitting processes, including CEQA and NEPA compliance activities.

  • Facilitate project meetings, prepare status reports, and communicate project progress to management, stakeholders, and clients.

  • Monitor construction activities, conduct site visits, and ensure work is performed according to approved plans, schedules, and contract requirements.

  • Review contractor submittals, Requests for Information (RFIs), pay applications, and change order requests.

  • Negotiate and prepare contract modifications and change orders while maintaining project budget controls.

  • Coordinate jurisdictional approvals, inspections, and project close-out documentation.

  • Manage multiple concurrent projects while maintaining quality, safety, and regulatory compliance standards.

  • Support procurement and project delivery methods, including Design-Bid-Build and Job Order Contracting (JOC).

  • Ensure compliance with Public Contracting Code requirements, public agency policies, and industry best practices.

  • Troubleshoot project challenges and resolve technical, contractual, and operational issues to maintain project momentum and stakeholder satisfaction.

  • Maintain accurate project records, schedules, budgets, and reporting documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 yearly


Location: Los Angeles, CA


Work Environment: Hybrid - PM will report Monday through Thursday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, at 7400 E. Imperial Highway, Downey, CA 90242 for a term of approximately 18 months.
