Job summary

Dycom Industries, Inc. in Irving, TX, is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate wireline outside plant construction projects and ensure on-time delivery within budget.

The role requires close collaboration with customers and internal teams to drive progress and maintain quality. You will manage schedules, forecast workload, and respond to technical issues while upholding safety standards and contractual obligations.

Qualifications

• Two years of wireline outside plant construction project management experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) and Pivot Tables.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees to achieve goals.
• Ability to forecast work 90 days in advance.
• Effective management of construction crew workload.
• Construction print/blueprint interpretation and site layout.

Responsibilities

• Manage change order work completion, ensuring pre-approval and alignment with company capacity.
• Generate revenue with positive margins for the company.
• Schedule workload, forecast reports, and interface with customers on scheduling and assignments.
• Respond promptly to customer technical problems and ensure contractual obligations are met.
• Maintain key KPIs for cost, time, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Keep company databases current and accurate.
• Coordinate with municipalities and manage permits.
• Coordinate cross-functionally with construction operations to align build schedules with priorities.
• Review and implement key performance metrics (build, productivity, etc.).
• Maintain safe working habits per regulations and policies.
• Handle customer escalations and remove roadblocks.
• Hours/days vary by region; expect at least 8 hours per day, 5 days/week; overtime as workload dictates.

What you'll do

• Manage change order work completion process ensuring that work is pre-approved, not to overextend the company.
• Generate revenue with positive expected margins for the company.
• Timely scheduling of workload, reports of job forecasting, interfacing with the customer regarding appropriate scheduling and employee's work assignments
• Timely and accurate response to customer technical problems and for adherence to contractual obligations to maintain and install customer equipment.
• Ensure key issues of cost, time, quality, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure company databases are kept current and accurate.
• Working with the Municipalities and executing the permits
• Responsible for cross functional coordination with construction operations team to ensure build schedule alignment with customer priorities.
• Review and implementation of key performance metrics (Build production / Overage Job Management / Market Productivity / etc.)
• Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations and policies.
• Customer Escalations / Roadblock Mitigation
• Hours/Schedules are determined based on Region and Customer needs in compliance with any regulations; on average – must be able to perform the above for at least 8 hours per day 5 daysper week. Weekend work/Overtime is dependent on workload.

What you'll need

• Two years of wireline outside plant construction project management experience
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other systems as needed, specifically Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, etc.), and Word
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers, employees, etc. in the accomplishments of goals and objectives.
• Demonstrated understanding & utilization of work in progress reports and be able to accurately forecast work 90 days in advance.
• Demonstrated effective Management of Construction Crew workload.
• Construction Print/Blueprint interpretation and site layout
