Job summary

Kelley Engineered Equipment, LLC designs and builds customized equipment for tunneling and underground construction. The Project Manager will lead complex, custom projects from concept through delivery, partnering with engineering and production to meet time and budget targets.

The role requires managing project financials, schedules, cross-functional teams, and client communications while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance. Travel to job sites is expected 10-20% of the time.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field required.
  • Experience managing multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Strong budgeting, cost control and forecasting skills.
  • Proven ability to coordinate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Ability to manage demanding clients and resolve conflicts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the project lifecycle from initial client contact through delivery and close-out.
  • Own project financials: estimate, track costs, manage invoicing and payments.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules with milestones.
  • Coordinate engineering, procurement and production teams.
  • Oversee procurement: vendor selection, negotiation and contracts.
  • Monitor progress and resolve risks or delays proactively.
  • Serve as primary client contact, manage expectations and issues.
  • Ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Travel to job sites as needed (10–20%).

The Role

KEE is seeking a Project Manager to lead complex, custom equipment projects from concept through delivery.


This role owns the full project lifecycle, working across engineering and production to deliver high-quality systems on time and on budget.


Key Responsibilities


  • Lead the project lifecycle: from initial client contact through delivery and close-out

  • Own project financials: estimate, track costs, and manage invoicing and payments

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules: ensure milestones and deliverables are met

  • Coordinate cross-functional internal teams (engineering, procurement, and production)

  • Oversee procurement: vendor selection, negotiation, and contracts

  • Monitor progress and proactively resolve risks or delays

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, managing expectations and resolving issues

  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards

  • Travel to job sites as needed (~10-20%)


Required Qualifications

Preferred Experience


  • Custom equipment or engineered-to-order manufacturing

  • Tunneling, underground construction, or heavy civil projects

  • Familiarity with project scheduling tools (Wrike, MS Project, or similar)

  • ERP or project cost tracking systems
