Job summary

Akamai Intelligence, LLC in Germantown, MD, seeks an experienced Project Manager to lead a Department of Energy IT task order, ensuring performance meets contractual, schedule, and quality requirements. You will serve as the primary interface with the DOE program manager and manage project staff and subcontractors.

Required are a 4-year degree in IT or related field, a GCPM certification, 10+ years IT experience with 8+ years contract performance, and an active DOE Q or DoD Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Information Technology or a related field.
• GIAC Certified Project Manager (GCPM) certification or equivalent.
• Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in information technology, including at least eight (8) years managing information technology contract performance.
• Demonstrated leadership and management skills commensurate with experience level.
• Demonstrated ability to work closely with a federal program/task manager to execute a project per task order specifications.
• Active DOE Q clearance or DoD Top Secret clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day execution of the assigned DOE task order, ensuring deliverables meet contractual scope, schedule, and quality standards
• Serve as the primary interface with the DOE program/task manager, providing status updates, resolving issues, and aligning execution with task order requirements
• Lead and manage project staff and subcontractor resources assigned to the task order
• Monitor project performance against cost, schedule, and technical baselines; elevate risks and develop mitigation plans
• Prepare and deliver required contract deliverables, status reports, and performance documentation
• Ensure compliance with applicable federal IT and contract performance standards
• Coordinate with internal corporate functions (contracts, program management, HR) to support staffing, reporting, and compliance needs of the task order

Position Summary

The Project Manager will serve as the primary point of accountability for delivery on a DOE information technology task order, working directly with the DOE program/task manager to ensure performance meets contractual, schedule, and quality requirements. This role requires demonstrated leadership in managing IT contract performance in a federal environment.
