Job description

Summary

The Project Manager Role will be responsible for leading the successful execution of solar PV projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. This role will oversee and coordinate all project management activities, serving as the primary liaison between clients, stakeholders, engineers, contractors, third-party construction managers, and other consultants throughout the execution phase. Responsibilities also include project coordination through execution and close-out, with potential involvement in entitlement, design, and preconstruction stages as needed.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, accountability, and results-driven performance delivering projects that meet approved schedules and budgets while safeguarding value and profitability.

Responsibilities
  • You will drive execution of the projects, while keeping them on schedule and on budget by ensuring timely delivery of 95% of project milestones ahead or on schedule.
  • You will maintain top quality customer service with clients and all stakeholders by building trust and relationships with clients and stakeholders.
  • You will evaluate the installer's progress reports with an eye toward managing project risks.
  • You will take full ownership of project budgets by maintaining a detailed budget tracker updated weekly throughout the project lifecycle, providing monthly cost variance reporting, and proactively addressing any budget deviations to ensure financial control and accuracy.
  • You will manage accurate tracking and control of permits, fees, third-party consultants, and all construction-related costs to maintain financial alignment and cost accountability.
  • You will present project progress, key findings and recommendations.
  • You will manage weekly calls with contractors to discuss project progress.
  • You will engage and coordinate internal resources, engineers, consultants, and solar installers in preparation and execution of project plans through completion.
  • You will review, manage and take full ownership of project schedules for construction and delivery, ensuring timelines are realistic, aligned and contractual obligations are properly sequenced. This includes maintaining a master project schedule, monitoring critical path activities, identifying potential delays early, and implementing corrective action plans to mitigate schedule risk. You will provide regular schedule updates to stakeholders and ensure all delivery milestones are achieved in accordance with approved timelines and financial objectives.
  • You will coordinate and manage solar installers, conduct project meetings and provide weekly progress reports to clients.
  • You will assist in the preparation and negotiate construction bid amounts and contract terms.
  • You will closely work with the Business Development team and provide recommendations on how to enhance and improve building and/ or site configuration.
  • You will provide site evaluation and due diligence including hiring consultants and evaluating/ overseeing when required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • You have 3 to 5 years of experience or equivalent with track record of achievement and career progression.
  • You have the ability to travel 25% with short overnight trips.
  • You have strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down the organization.
  • You have experience leading, motivating and managing various projects and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
  • You have successfully led and managed complex portfolios valued at $30 million.
  • You are successful in the Project Management function of a construction firm.
  • You have proven success managing subcontractors and developing and executing innovative project changes.
  • You have experience developing cost to completes, costing and pricing, change orders, and maximizing your profits.
  • You have the ability to read, understand and interpret contract and insurance documents and forms, and make appropriate recommendations.
  • You have experience in project start-up meetings, subcontractor and vendor buyouts, owner estimates, sub/vendor requisitions and cost to completes.
  • You have the experience in successfully leading projects and programs to on-time, on-schedule and within budget close.
  • You are an influencer and expert at gaining trust from senior leadership, team members, and clients.
  • You have a well rounded business perspective.
  • You have excellent teamwork, communication, and people skills is a must.
  • You have time management and organizational skills.
  • You have working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint, Smartsheets and Acumatica.
  • You have experience presenting to Senior Leadership and executives.
  • You have Strong decisiveness and project resolution skills with the ability to prioritize critical tasks to maintain project momentum.
Physical Requirements
  • This role is an in office role at our headquarters in Marietta, GA.
  • You have the ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Available to travel as needed.
