Job summary

thyssenkrupp Elevator in Fort Worth, TX is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to direct and deliver large-scale airport ground support projects.

You will oversee contracts from kickoff to close, coordinate with engineering, procurement, and field teams, manage schedules and budgets, and maintain strong client relations while ensuring safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; PMP certification a plus.
  • Proficient with MS Office, MS Project or other scheduling software.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed and read financial reports.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of multi-faceted projects from kickoff through completion.
  • Coordinate planning, scheduling, design coordination, installation and documentation.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently for on-time, within-scope and within-budget delivery.
  • Communicate with customers, schedule work, and coordinate field operations and subcontractors.
  • Forecast billing, review invoices, and track project costs to produce financial reports.
  • Negotiate change orders, manage supplier/vendor relationships, and ensure safety compliance.
  • Interface with corporate management, clients, and stakeholders to reflect company image.

Job description

OVERALL POSITION PURPOSE:

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of all projects in a timely manner.

CORE TASKS:
  • Oversee all aspects of a contract from sales turnover through all subsequent processes to ensure a timely and in-budget completion.
  • Responsible for the management of walkways and passenger boarding bridge projects, including but not limited to planning, scheduling, design coordination, installation, and documentation.
  • Accountable for managing multiple projects concurrently for on-time delivery, within scope and within budget.
  • Timely response to customer communication, coordinate schedules and installation with customers.
  • Forecast project billing and submit payment applications. AIA formatted schedule of values knowledge a plus.
  • Coordinate and track timely submittal approval process.
  • Responsible for site visits and organizing meetings with customers.
  • Accountable for establishing and maintaining a strong customer relation with clients, while focusing on Company’s expected level of profitability from Contract.
  • Responsible for coordinating the installation of our PBB equipment and other ground support equipment as dictated in a contract.
  • Work with Field Operations to provide directions to subcontractors and our own field personnel.
  • Responsible for the assessment of vendor quotes and the initiation of purchase orders requisitions for auxiliary equipment, shipping and installation subcontracts.
  • Responsible for assuring projects are implemented and completed in a time efficient and cost-effective manner through contracting with sub-contractors, coordinating activities with airport and airline management, oversee safety regulations, maintaining control of project cost, preparing accounting reports and presenting reports to all levels of Company management.
  • Assure timely completion of necessary documentation for job costing, schedule requirements, parts and supply requirements.
  • Interface with TKAS management, multiple departments, client’s representatives, major contractors, subcontractors, vendors, etc. in a professional manner, whereby reflecting a positive image of TK Airport Solutions, Inc.
  • Coordinate the troubleshooting and correction of problems that develop throughout the normal process of completing the project and turning it over to After Sales
  • As engineering changes develop, assist in implementation of changes and modifications and pursue associated costs if changes are driven by others.
  • Responsible for negotiating and issuing Change Orders and obtaining proper approval and signatures from Client and TK Airport Solutions, Inc.
  • Accountable for cost containment of the contract; tracking of cost and issuing financial reports to TKAS management.
  • Participate in Company Safety Program through safety meetings, audits, following good safe work practices and maintaining a safety and clean work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS OF POSITION HOLDER:
Expert Know How/Knowledge:
  • Understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.
  • Proficient with MS Office, MS Project or other scheduling software.
  • Demonstrated experience and success in management of projects, processes and high-level customer service.
  • Experience with collaborating with multiple departments; manufacturing, field installation engineering, and sales.
  • Knowledge/experience of heavy industry field and fluent in reading and interpreting drawings plans and specifications.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills are a must. Bi‑lingual skills in English/Spanish a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed and/or work extended hours.
  • Ability to read and understand financial reports.
  • Possess strong discipline to provide accurate and timely data.
  • Impeccable attention to detail, effective problem‑solving skills.
  • Able to thrive in a fast pace environment.
  • Ability to work well with a team.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time – accurately, efficiently and effectively.
  • Must be self‑directed, professional and dependable.
  • Demonstrate dependable work habits and schedule.

Expected (Educational) Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification a plus.
Expected Years of Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in project management within a manufacturing environment.
