Job summary

SHL Medical Design Center LLC is seeking a Project Manager to lead the design and development of complex medical devices in a highly regulated GMP environment. You will work with customers and cross‑functional teams to ensure that requirements, deadlines and schedules stay on track.

You will define project scope, objectives and milestones, forecast resources, manage budgets and risk, and provide regular updates to sponsors.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Math, Electrical Engineering, Science, or IOE (US equivalent).
• At least five years of relevant project management experience.
• New hires subject to drug and background checks.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Uses knowledge of and experience with project management processes, methodologies tools and techniques and their adaptation to the company, time and risk management, performance evaluations and change management principles, exercising good judgment, cultural, social and environmental awareness, influencing decision-making for successful projects to successfully implement and execute specific company projects. Works closely with all team members to ensure that project requirements, deadlines and schedules are on track. Plans, budgets, allocates resources, manages project risk, and leads project team. Manages major/complex projects and leads various disciplines in executing the required deliverables under a highly regulatory/GMP environment. Interacts with customers, internal stakeholders and a cross functional team to lead from project initiation through the entire design and development process. Leads and manages the design and development of complex medical devices and equipment. Maintains project oversight over all disciplines. Ensures individual discipline leaders are aware of customer's overall objectives and their responsibilities to the specific project. Escalates any issues as appropriate to higher level management. Understands the customer voice and user needs. Interacts with customers, internal stakeholders and cross-functional team leads from project initiation through the entire design and development process. Defines project scope, objectives and major milestones in alignment with sponsors and internal program and product managers. Forecasts resources needed to reach objectives. Assembles Project Team with the appropriate range of skills and experience and ensures that all members have the prerequisites to optimally perform their tasks. Prepares budget based on scope of work and resource requirements and tracks project costs in order to meet budget. Works with the project team to develop a detailed project schedule and work plan. Takes complex problems, abstracts the key issues, and creatively discovers alternative solutions. Monitors project performance to identify areas for improvement and adjusts as needed. Performs project risk management to minimize project risks and escalates identified risks at an early stage. Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs and ensures that all parties are informed of the impacts on planned changes. Provides project updates on a regular basis to various stakeholders about deliverables, required adjustments and overall progress.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Requires a Bachelors degree in Math, Electrical Engineering, Science, or Industrial and Operations Engineering (U.S. equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience evidencing demonstrable ability to perform the stated job duties. New hires subject to drug and background checks.
