Job summary

Kokosing, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Construction Project Manager in the United States to plan, direct, and coordinate diverse industrial projects, including Water/Wastewater and production facilities. Typical workloads include one large project or several smaller ones.

You will lead Project Engineers, Superintendents and Foremen, manage budgets and schedules, ensure safety, and maintain client relations while mentoring team members to deliver projects on time and within funding parameters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• PE credentialing not required but a strong plus.
• 7+ years of construction, design, finance, and management experience.
• Open to other large construction experience.

Responsibilities

• Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within corporate policy.
• Confer with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project; arranges recruitment or assignment of personnel.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within budget.
• Reviews project proposals or plans to determine timeframe, funding, procedures and resources for phases.
• Reviews status reports and adjusts schedules as needed.
• Presents project reports to management, client, or others.
• Confer with project personnel to provide technical advice and resolve problems.
• Coordinate project activities with governmental agencies and subcontractors.
• Understand and execute CPM-based project schedules.
• Monitor and control construction through on-site supervision to meet schedule and budget.
• Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and project profitability.
• Lead project team in daily field coordination meetings and monthly safety kickoff meetings.
• Mentor and assist with career development of other team members.

Job Description:

Summary:

• Plans, directs, and coordinates construction activities for a wide variety of industrial projects.
  • Project types range from Water/Wastewater plants (primarily) to factories/production facilities, data centers across a wide variety of industries and clients.
  • Typical workload volume is overseeing one large project or a couple/several smaller projects.
• Ensures that project goals are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.
• Manages Project Engineers, Superintendents and Foremen who supervise construction employees; charged with overall direction, coordination and evaluation of team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Initiate and maintain liaison with prime client to facilitate construction activities.
• Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of corporate policy.
• Confers with project staff to outline work plan, assign duties/responsibilities and authority.
• Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project - arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.
• Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure work progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Reviews project proposal or plan to determine the timeframe, funding limitations, project procedures, staffing requirements, and available resources to various phases of project.
• Reviews status reports from project personnel and modifies schedules/plans as needed.
• Prepares project reports for management, client, or others.
• Confers with project personnel to provide technical advice and to resolve problems.
• Coordinates project activities with activities of governmental agencies and subcontractors.
• Understands and is able to analyze and execute CPM-based project schedules.
• Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of on-site Superintendent to ensure project is built safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Represent company in Owner progress meetings.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and responsible for project profit or loss.
• Lead project team in daily field coordination meeting, weekly block schedule meeting and monthly safety kickoff meeting.
• Mentoring and assist with career development of other team members.
• Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
• Other tasks and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Supervisory responsibilities, in accordance with policies and applicable laws, include: interviewing/hiring; training; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding/disciplining; addressing complaints/resolving problems.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• PE credentialing is not required but is a strong plus
• 7+ years' experience/knowledge of construction, design, finance, and management required
• Open to other large construction experience
