Job summary

PERI Formwork Systems, Inc. in Chicago, IL is seeking a Project Manager to support all phases of large, complex concrete shoring, formwork, and scaffolding projects.

You will serve as the main customer contact during execution and coordinate with engineering, assembly, and site supervision to ensure timely deliveries and project success. Qualifications include a civil or mechanical engineering degree and 2+ years in formwork/scaffolding, with proficiency in scheduling tools and 2D/3D calculation

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a closely related field.
  • Two years of relevant professional experience in formwork or scaffolding.
  • Two years of experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software.
  • Two years of practical construction site experience in the assembly, erection, and dismantling of formwork and access scaffolding.
  • One year of experience with 2D or 3D calculation software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management support during all phases of large, complex concrete shoring, formwork, and scaffolding projects.
  • Serve as the primary customer contact during execution and prepare resource pipelines and schedules for engineering, assembly, material planning, and site supervision.
  • Coordinate with the engineering team on design and material requirements and forecast upcoming material needs.
  • Monitor costs against the project budget and schedule and ensure proper change orders and billing.

Project Manager
Duties: Responsible for providing project management support during all phases of large, complex concrete shoring, formwork, and scaffolding projects and helping facilitate long term improvements in the procurement and management of projects. Serve as the primary customer contact during execution phase of assigned projects; prepare resource pipeline and schedule for all aspects of project: engineering, assembly, material planning, and site supervision; effectively communicate needs to all departments to ensure project pipeline is achieved; work closely with engineering team on all aspects of design and material requirements; coordinate with customer to plan deliveries and forecast upcoming material needs or areas of concern; troubleshoot any problems with customer, engineering, and operations teams to ensure prompt resolution; and assist local sales engineer and operations with returns and project closeouts. Coordinate proper contract summary sheets and billing models to meet customers' expectations and PERI requirements for non-standard products; monitor to ensure material movement is aligned with project scope and contractual terms; monitor to ensure billing is aligned with contract requirements; monitor internal and external costs against project budget and schedule; ensure change order documents are maintained and communicated with the customer; and oversee project closeout processes and organize settlement discussions. Work with all departments to identify problems and help develop long term solutions, processes, and procedures to ensure continued improvement in our ability to successfully manage large, complex projects; and assist with the development and implementation of National Highrise Segment sales strategy.
Domestic travel 10% of the time for client meetings and site visits.
Salary: $74,256–$92,000 per year
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or a closely related engineering field. Two years of relevant professional experience, to include: 2 years of experience in the formwork or scaffolding sector; 2 years of experience with Microsoft Project or equivalent scheduling software; 2 years of practical construction site experience in the assembly, erection, and dismantling of formwork and access scaffolding; and 1 year of experience with 2D or 3D calculation software.
