Job summary

Rockwell Automation is seeking a Project Manager to lead development and implementation of new product development projects for the SIC business. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and others in an Agile environment to deliver successful products. This hybrid role is based in Chelmsford, MA, reporting to the Sr.

Manager-SIC PMO. The ideal candidate has a strong background in project planning, cross-functional leadership, and experience with Agile frameworks

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
  • Engineering degree or related field preferred.
  • PMI PMP certification or equivalent is a plus.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong communication and project governance skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project planning and execution activities, coordinating resources and finances for product development projects.
  • Lead cross-functional teams for development and implementation of new product design including manufacturing, sourcing and quality.
  • Support the Agile framework that each project operates under.
  • Monitor project timeline, milestones and budget.
  • Identify, mitigate and communicate risks and issues to stakeholders.
  • Report to business and senior management on progress and ensure commitments are achieved.

Job Description

The Project Manager role leads the development and implementation of new product development projects for the Sensing, Safety, and Industrial Components (SIC) business. The projects include new product introduction, brand label, and co-developed products all of which use an Agile framework in their development process. You will collaborate with Engineering, Product Marketing, Manufacturing, and other resources needed to deliver a successful product. The Project Manager will plan and manage the project schedules, monitor the project budget, and support the team through risk mitigation to ensure the project is a success. You will report to the Sr. Manager-SIC PMO and work in a hybrid environment from Chelmsford, Massachusetts, United States

Your Responsibilities:
  • You will be responsible for managing project planning and execution activities, coordinating resources, and managing finances for product development projects.
  • You will lead teams comprised of cross-functional resources for the development and implementation of new product design which include manufacturing, sourcing, and quality.
  • You will also support the Agile framework that that each of your projects operates under.
  • You will monitor the project timeline, key milestones, and budget.
  • You will identify, mitigate, and communicate project risks and issues to various stakeholder groups.
  • You have the basic understanding of the software, firmware, mechanical, electrical and hardware engineering disciplines needed for planning and risk mitigation discussions within projects.
  • You will report to business management and senior management on progress while ensuring the project commitments are achieved.
The Essentials - You Will Have:
  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Years of Relevant Work Experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
  • Typically requires 8 Years related experience.
  • Experience managing projects in an Engineering-focused Product Development environment.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management certificate or PMP certification.
  • Experience with and/or certification in one or more Agile methodologies, e.g. certified scrum master
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to facilitate cross-functional collaboration, manage stakeholder relationships, and drive alignment toward shared objectives.
  • Experience planning projects with Project applications (i.e. Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, etc.)
  • Experience with Atlassian suite of applications: Jira, Jira Align and Confluence
  • Experience with standardized Product Development processes including use of stage gating.
  • Demonstrated project experience with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering disciplines.

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is $131,680.00 - $197,520.00 USD with an annual target bonus of 8% of base salary. Our benefits for the US can be found here. Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
