Job description

NEXTChapter Transitions | Chattanooga, TN

Hourly | Variable ~20–30+ hours/week | In-Person | Not Remote

NEXTChapter Transitions is a specialized downsizing, move management, and professional organizing company serving the Chattanooga metro area and surrounding North Georgia communities. We help older adults, families navigating loss, and clients of all ages with Downsizing, Senior Move Management, Professional Organizing, Estate Clearing, and Relocation — and we do it with genuine care for every person we serve.

We are a close-knit, professional team built on collaboration, mutual respect, and a shared passion for meaningful work. We're looking for someone who leads by listening, not by directing — and who brings that same energy to clients and teammates alike.

The Role

You’ll work in close partnership with the CEO/Owner across the full project lifecycle — from initial consultation and planning through execution and follow-up. Once a project is underway, you’re the primary point of contact for clients and their families. You’ll lead a small field team, coordinate third‑party vendors as needed, and keep every project moving with care, precision, and heart.

This work is genuinely rewarding. It’s also hands‑on and physical — attics, basements, garages, and sheds are part of the job as often as beautiful living rooms are. We need someone who shows up with the same professionalism and positive energy regardless.

What We’re Looking For
  • Ownership & accountability — you follow through, every time.
  • Reliability — clients, families, and teammates count on you completely.
  • Integrity — you are honest, transparent, and always act in the client's best interest.
  • Work ethic & internal drive — you don't need to be pushed to do excellent work.
  • Critical thinking & calm under pressure — you make sound decisions, are flexible and find creative solutions, even on a stressful moving day.
  • Genuine empathy — you understand what our clients are going through and meet them there.
  • Positive attitude — you enjoy this work and it shows.
  • Collaborative spirit — you lead without dominating; you actively seek input from your team.
  • Outstanding communication — polished, professional, and clear in writing and in person; proper grammar is a must.
  • A natural eye for design — you instinctively know how to arrange a room so it feels both beautiful and livable. Setting up a client’s new space isn't just logistics to you — it's an opportunity to create something that genuinely reflects who they are. Formal training isn't necessary; a real talent for it is.
  • Poise with higher-net-worth clients — discreet, composed, and genuinely approachable in any environment; comfortable with clientele, regardless of wealth or background.
Schedule & Compensation
  • Pay: Hourly, commensurate with experience, with room for growth.
  • Hours: Variable; target of 20–30+ hrs/week. Our business is cyclical — some weeks are full‑time level, others are lighter. We’re upfront about this; the best team members are comfortable with this rhythm.
  • Schedule: Primarily scheduled Monday–Friday, between 9–5. Occasional later hours on move‑in days or hard deadlines. No weekends.
  • Work Environment: This is an in‑person, client‑facing role — not remote.
  • Benefits: Paid training, mileage reimbursement, flexible scheduling.
  • Background check and references required. NEXTChapter Transitions LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
