Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. in Baton Rouge, LA, seeks an ambitious Project Manager with 5+ years of civil engineering design and project management to join our team. You will oversee complex design tasks, coordinate with clients and agencies, and help grow the team.

The role covers proposals, contracts, schedules, and QA/QC, with emphasis on on-time, on-budget delivery and active involvement in business development. A PE license in Louisiana or ability to obtain is preferred.

Qualifications

• Manage projects from inception through completion.

• Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and managing proposals, contracts, invoicing, work in process and account receivables.
• Represent clients and firm in meetings with governmental agencies.
• Prepare, maintain, coordinate project schedules of multiple concurrent projects with clients and design team.
• Communicate directly with clients and public governing agencies.
• Developing and tracking project milestones to ensure on-time and on-budget project delivery.
• Recruit, manage, develop, lead, inspire and coach design team.
• Prepare plan documents and supporting design calculations.
• Produce high-quality work and implement and maintain QA/QC procedures.
• Be active in business development.
• Resolve design conflicts and field construction issues.
• Able to understand proposals and contract scope of services.
• Able to identify scope creep, write and capture additional services in a timely manner.
• Overseeing the technical and financial aspects of various projects.
• Coordinate with other disciplines and support services.
• Make decisions independently in regard to various issues and methods.
• Able to accept and give performance feedback.

Our ideal candidate will have 5+ years of civil engineering design and project management experience supporting design projects. This position is responsible for complex engineering design tasks as well as marketing, business development, client contact and growth of a team.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an accredited institution
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Louisiana (or capable of obtaining)
• Proficiency in computer-aided design software
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Project Engineer
• Management experience in AR, Invoicing, and overall duties involved in managing a design team
