Job summary

Dematic is seeking a skilled Project Manager in Atlanta to drive end-to-end delivery of complex material handling projects. You will own scope, schedules, budgets, and governance, coordinating cross-functional teams to meet strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years in material handling, strong PM discipline, and leadership abilities. This full-time role requires onsite collaboration with customers and vendors in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Engineering preferred.
  • 3-5 years' experience in material handling industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong Project Management background.
  • Team leadership and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Projects.

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage all phases of the project lifecycle from initiation to closure.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables with comprehensive plans.
  • Lead development of integrated schedules, risk registers and budgets.
  • Establish and maintain project governance structures and roles.
  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve high performance.
  • Develop resource management plans for optimal allocation.
  • Monitor progress, identify critical paths, and take corrective actions.
  • Manage dependencies and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Ensure contractual schedule alignment with stakeholders throughout the lifecycle.
  • Develop and implement communication plans for all stakeholders.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and resolve conflicts.
  • Provide regular project status reports highlighting risks and issues.
  • Facilitate meetings, workshops, and presentations with stakeholders.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers on favorable terms.
  • Monitor vendor performance and resolve issues with stakeholder support.
  • Review and implement contract management plans to ensure compliance.
  • Manage change orders and contract modifications with proper documentation.
  • Develop and manage project budgets and track expenses.
  • Forecast costs and resources for budgeting and planning.
  • Prepare financial reports and insights into project performance.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks with proactive plans.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts and escalate risks to senior management when needed.

The base pay range for this role is estimated to be $88,400-$125,000 at the time of posting. Final compensation will be determined by various factors such as work location, education, experience, knowledge, and skills.

What You Will do in This Role:

  • Manage change orders and contract modifications, ensuring proper documentation and approval processes.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, ensuring adherence to approved funding levels.
  • Track project expenses, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to maintain budget compliance.
  • Develop and implement cost control measures, maximizing project value and minimizing waste.
  • Forecast project costs and resource needs, supporting accurate budgeting and financial planning.
  • Prepare financial reports and presentations, providing insights into project financial performance.
  • Identify, assess, and manage project risks and issues, developing and implementing mitigation strategies.
  • Proactively identify potential problems and develop contingency plans to minimize impact on project deliverables.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts, facilitating collaborative solutions and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Escalate risks and issues to senior management, as appropriate, providing recommendations for resolution.
