About The Role

We are seeking an accomplished Project Management Manager, Houston to lead and strengthen the Project Management teams supporting our operations.

This leadership role is responsible for the overall performance, development, and execution of the Project Management organization across both Ohio facilities, supporting a portfolio of customer projects valued at approximately $100M annually.

The Project Management Manager has direct management responsibility for Project Managers and Project Coordinators while providing strong matrix leadership and influence across Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Safety, Finance, Estimating, Testing, and Sales to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will be accountable for driving project execution excellence, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, on margin, and in accordance with customer, contractual, and quality requirements.

The Project Management Manager will serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, responsible for managing customer relationships, ensuring customer satisfaction, maintaining effective communication, and providing visibility into project performance, risks, milestones, and delivery commitments.

This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day project execution with team development, operational discipline, customer satisfaction, and financial performance.

The Opportunity

This role is ideal for a Project Management leader who thrives in a fast-paced, engineered-to-order manufacturing environment and enjoys developing teams while driving project performance.

The Project Management Manager will oversee a portfolio of customer projects, manage Project Management resources across both facilities, and serve as a key leader in ensuring alignment between Project Management and the supporting functional organizations.

Working closely with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, Finance, and Sales leadership, you will help establish execution priorities, resolve project challenges, drive successful customer outcomes, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.

What You'll Do
  • Provide leadership and oversight for a portfolio of customer projects valued at approximately $100M annually, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, on budget, on margin, and in accordance with customer, contractual, and quality requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customers, managing customer relationships, expectations, communications, escalations, and overall customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Lead customer project reviews, status meetings, and execution discussions, providing clear communication regarding project progress, key milestones, risks, mitigation plans, recovery actions, and delivery commitments.
  • Provide direct leadership, coaching, performance management, and development of Project Managers and Project Coordinators across the Youngstown and Brookfield facilities.
  • Manage the Project Management organization's workload, staffing, resource allocation, performance, succession planning, and talent development to support customer commitments and business objectives.
  • Provide strong cross-functional leadership and influence across Engineering, Procurement, Supply Chain, Production, Quality, Safety, Finance, Testing, and Sales to ensure alignment with project priorities, schedules, and customer commitments.
  • Partner with functional leaders to establish priorities, resolve execution challenges, remove obstacles, and drive accountability for project milestones and customer deliverables.
  • Drive collaboration and alignment between Project Management and all supporting functions to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, on margin, and to quality requirements.
  • Establish and maintain consistent Project Management processes, governance, best practices, and execution standards across both Ohio facilities.
  • Lead project reviews, project health assessments, risk reviews, and resource planning meetings.
  • Conduct regular reviews with Project Managers to monitor project performance, schedule adherence, margin performance, customer satisfaction, resource requirements, and forecast accuracy.
  • Drive accountability for project execution and ensure timely escalation and resolution of project risks, issues, and constraints.
  • Support Project Managers in managing customer relationships, issue resolution, schedule recovery plans, change management activities, and commercial matters.
  • Monitor project financial performance, including revenue, cost, forecasting, profitability, cash flow, and margin performance.
  • Ensure effective workload balancing and resource allocation across both Ohio locations.
  • Support staffing plans, hiring activities, succession planning, and organizational development within the Project Management organization.
  • Develop and maintain project performance metrics, reporting dashboards, and portfolio reviews.
  • Partner with Sales and Business Development teams to support customer growth, identify new opportunities, and strengthen long-term customer relationships.
  • Ensure customer concerns, issues, and requests are addressed promptly and effectively while maintaining project scope, schedule, margin, and quality objectives.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on execution excellence, customer satisfaction, operational performance, and profitability.
  • Serve as a key escalation point for project teams, customers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain a visible presence within both facilities and regularly engage with project teams, production teams, and customers.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Business, or a related discipline.
  • PMP Certification required.
  • 15+ years of progressive Project Management experience, including experience leading Project Managers and cross-functional project teams.

  • Strong financial and commercial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, margin management, contract administration, change management, and customer relationship management.
  • Experience leading project reviews, customer reviews, risk reviews, and operational performance reviews.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive alignment across multiple functional organizations.
  • Experience within engineered-to-order manufacturing, industrial, utility, power distribution, electrical equipment, EPC, data center, or infrastructure environments preferred.
Leadership Profile

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strong project execution capabilities with the ability to develop people and build high-performing teams.
