Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Management Development Coach (P3/P4) embedded in the Lean-Agile Center of Excellence to drive Agile adoption across the division and build a sustainable training/coaching ecosystem.

You will design curricula blending traditional project management, Agile, and EVM, while mentoring Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and team members and ensuring DoD compliance. This role is based in Roy, Utah with relocation considerations.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with a current U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance. Must have ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program approval.
• Level 3: 5 years with Bachelor/Science; 3 years with Master; 1 year with PhD (or 4 years experience can substitute a degree).
• Level 4: 8 years with Bachelor/Science; 6 years with Master; 4 years with PhD (or 4 years experience can substitute a degree).
• Knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies, tools and resources.
• Knowledgeable in Atlassian Suite (Jira and Confluence).
• Exceptional problem‑solving skills and ability to anticipate issues before they affect business productivity.

Responsibilities

• Mentor individuals to clarify Agile roles, including Scrum Masters and Product Owners.
• Apply EVM techniques and configure Jira/Confluence/Advanced Roadmaps to capture value delivery metrics.
• Lead PI‑Planning preparation and execution, ensuring goals align with strategy, grooming backlog, and tracking performance.
• Champion continuous improvement and compliance with DoD policies and security requirements.
• Perform or support Agile Coaching, CAM, EVM, IMP Schedule, Risk/Issue/Opportunity, Procurement, and contracting tasks.

Overview

The Project Management Development Coach (P3/P4) is a dual level position embedded in the Strategic Deterrent Systems Lean-Agile Center of Excellence, where the coach will champion Agile adoption across the entire division while delivering a sustainable training and coaching ecosystem.

Roy, Utah.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and deliver instructor‑led and digital curricula that blend traditional project‑management, Agile frameworks, and Earned‑Value Management fundamentals.
• Work 1‑on‑1 with individuals to clarify and master their Agile roles, providing focused mentorship for Scrum Masters, Product Owners, chief scrum masters, and team members.
• Apply EVM techniques to the Sentinel program, configuring the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence, Advanced Roadmaps) to capture value‑delivery metrics and translate data into actionable coaching plans.
• Lead PI‑Planning preparation and execution for a designated business unit, ensuring goals align with strategic objectives, backlog grooming and sprint commitments are realistic, and performance is tracked against the Integrated Master Schedule.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement and transparent communication while maintaining full compliance with DoD acquisition policies and required security clearances.
• Perform or support Agile Coaching roles, Control Account Manager tasks, Earned Value Management tasks, Integrated Master Schedule tasks, Risk, Issue, Opportunity tasks, Procurement, Purchasing, Supplier Management and/or Contracting tasks, Resource Management tasks, and any other contractual or programmatic requirements.

Salary

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 – $147,600.00. Secondary Level Salary Range: $122,800.00 – $184,200.00. These ranges are guidelines; final offer may vary based on scope, responsibilities, and candidate experience.
