Job summary

The Project Lead – Structured Cabling oversees on-site crews, ensures safety and quality standards, and coordinates with the Project Manager to deliver projects on time and within budget.

This role requires strong technical knowledge, fiber termination capability, and effective communication with customers and internal teams.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Ability to terminate fiber.
• Minimum 6 months of supervisory/managerial experience.
• Proficiency with required tools (screwdrivers, drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips, pliers, hammer, cable stripper, punch tools, crimp tools, butt set, volt-ohmmeter, continuity tester, etc.).
• Ability to interpret blueprints and project documents, including specifications and quality/reporting requirements.
• Knowledge of universal communications color codes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Performs quality checks, coordinates moves, and prepares cut sheets for voice and data cross-connects; prepares red-lined as-built drawings.
• Serves as main on-site customer contact and attends facility/construction meetings as required.
• Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and troubleshoots issues as they arise.
• Completes other responsibilities as assigned.

Job Summary

The Project Lead – Structured Cabling acts as the on‑site coordinator and supervisor of several Crew Leads – Structured Cabling for voice and data installation projects, ensuring job completion meets company and customer quality and safety requirements while maintaining staff efficiency.

General Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Runs major project crews, takes responsibility for crew performance, and provides necessary training
• Ensures adherence to Company and customer safety and quality guidelines; holds weekly safety meetings
• Initiates performance‑related communications and escalates to the Project Manager as needed
• Coordinates with the Project Manager to ensure productivity, job completion, and budget compliance
• Completes all IES Commercial and project paperwork accurately and on time, including timesheets, material transfers, work orders, change orders, and tool transfers
• Performs quality checks, coordinates moves, and prepares cut sheets for voice and data cross‑connects; prepares red‑lined as‑built drawings
• Serves as the main on‑site customer contact and attends facility and construction meetings as required
• Demonstrates strong technical knowledge and troubleshoots/resolves technical issues as they arise
• Completes other responsibilities as assigned

• Regular attendance is mandatory
