Job summary

  • Strong understanding of medical policy implementation and client setup workflows.
  • Experience working with policy configuration or benefits administration processes.
  • Ability to coordinate work across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong analytical skills reviewing claims data, metrics, and trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills with multiple priorities and executive communication.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day execution of the Policy Enablement workstream to meet schedule and objectives.
  • Develop and manage the Policy Enablement implementation plan, timeline, milestones, and transitions.
  • Own the Policy Configuration Inventory with governance and documentation.
  • Coordinate activities between onshore and offshore policy teams and align timelines.
  • Partner with business, operations, IT, testing, and implementation teams for policy deployment.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, identify dependencies, manage risks, and resolve issues.
  • Monitor progress and escalate roadblocks as needed.
  • Analyze claims data and outcomes to identify policy optimization opportunities.
  • Prepare executive status reports, dashboards, and concise leadership updates.
  • Translate technical issues into business updates for senior leadership.
  • Support governance activities including reporting, decision tracking, and action items.
  • Ensure adherence to PM best practices, governance standards, and methodologies.
  • Assist in change management and transition planning for adoption.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Lead in Policy Enablement to support a large-scale healthcare transformation initiative. This individual will be responsible for leading the planning, execution, and governance of the Policy Enablement workstream, ensuring successful implementation of medical policy configurations and operational readiness across cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate is a strong project leader with healthcare operations experience, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and the ability to translate complex operational activities into concise executive-level communications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day execution of the Policy Enablement workstream, ensuring deliverables are completed on schedule and aligned with overall program objectives.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage the Policy Enablement implementation plan, project timeline, milestone tracking, and transition activities.
  • Own and maintain the Policy Configuration Inventory, ensuring governance, version control, documentation, and ongoing maintenance processes are followed.
  • Coordinate activities between onshore and offshore Policy Configuration teams, ensuring work is prioritized appropriately and completed according to established timelines.
  • Partner closely with business, operations, IT, configuration, testing, and implementation teams to ensure successful policy deployment.
  • Facilitate cross-functional meetings, identify dependencies, manage risks, and drive issue resolution across multiple workstreams.
  • Monitor implementation progress and proactively identify roadblocks, escalating issues as needed.
  • Analyze claims data, policy outcomes, and operational trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and policy optimization.
  • Prepare executive-level status reports, dashboards, presentations, and communications that clearly summarize project health, risks, accomplishments, and recommendations.
  • Translate technical and operational issues into concise business updates suitable for senior leadership.
  • Support governance activities including workstream reporting, documentation, decision tracking, and action item management.
  • Ensure adherence to project management best practices, governance standards, and implementation methodologies.
  • Assist in change management and transition planning to support successful operational adoption.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of project management, program management, or workstream leadership experience.
  • Experience supporting healthcare payer operations, managed care, or health insurance environments.
  • Strong understanding of medical policy implementation and client setup workflows.
  • Experience working with policy configuration or benefits administration processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate work across geographically dispersed onshore and offshore teams.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience reviewing claims data, operational metrics, and performance trends.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including executive presentation experience.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple organizational levels.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting enterprise healthcare transformation or system implementation initiatives.
  • Knowledge of healthcare claims processing and policy administration platforms.
  • PMP, CAPM, Agile, or other project management certification preferred.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Microsoft Project, Azure DevOps, Jira, Smartsheet, or similar platforms.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
