Job summary

UNICO Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Project Land Surveyor to support office and field tasks including ALTA, Topographic, and final maps. Responsibilities include performing surveys, preparing exhibits, and researching title documents for a broad range of projects.

Under the direction of a Licensed Land Surveyor, this role emphasizes accuracy, fieldwork, and data processing with Trimble GPS equipment. A strong foundation in boundary principles and AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.

Qualifications

• Must understand boundary and legal surveying concepts.
• Experience with surveys and mapping tasks in field and office.
• Prefer LSIT or pursuing licensure in surveying.
• Relevant experience in land development is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Produce maps and drawings including ALTA/ACSM, topographic, parcel and final maps using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Download and process field data for survey plans.
• Perform computations like closures and area/length calculations for surveys.
• Prepare legal descriptions and easement exhibits.
• Compile and research title documents and record mapping.
• Conduct survey field work with Trimble robotic and GPS equipment.

Job Overview:

Under the direction of Licensed Land Surveyor, the Project Land Surveyor will perform various office and field tasks associated with land surveying and mapping, such as ALTA Surveys, Topographic Surveys, Utility Surveys, Records of Survey, Parcel Maps, Final Maps, plats and exhibits, legal descriptions, and easement documents for a wide range of projects and clients.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Mapping of detailed survey related drawings such as Topographic Surveys, ALTA/ACSM Surveys, Record of Surveys, Parcel Maps, Final Maps and other survey related services using AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Download and process field data
• Perform various computations including closure, precision, and calculations for surveys, plats, easements, etc.
• Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for easement purposes
• Compile and research title documents and record mapping
• Ability to perform survey field work using Trimble Robotic and GPS equipment

Skills:

• Must have basic knowledge of boundary and legal principals
• Must have knowledge with AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Survey field experience is preferred using Trimble Robotic and GPS equipment
• Relevant experience with land development is preferred

Qualifications:

• High School diploma, or equivalent, is required
• Associate or bachelor’s degree in surveying, or equivalent work experience, preferred
• Minimum of two years of relevant work experience is required
• Land Surveyor-in-Training (LSIT) is preferred
