Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and break down High Purity and Passivation equipment.
  • Safely handle hoses, pumps, filtration systems, and tanks.
  • Assist in chemical handling with strict safety procedures.
  • Support flushing and passivation activities under project leadership.
  • Monitor equipment and report concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain clean, organized work areas and proper tool care.
  • Travel to customer job sites as required.
  • Adhere to PPE, lockout/tagout, and other safety protocols.

Note

This project is in Georgia, but candidates should expect to travel to various project locations. Candidates must be willing to travel to Lucedale for training and to any location where future projects may be based. $200 per diem.

Position Summary

The Project Hand is an essential member of RMR Mechanical's High Purity and Passivation team, responsible for supporting the successful execution of projects through equipment setup, chemical handling, flushing operations, and jobsite maintenance. This position requires a dependable, safety-conscious, and hardworking individual who demonstrates professionalism, reliability, and a commitment to delivering quality workmanship. Employees are expected to represent RMR Mechanical with integrity while contributing to a culture focused on safety, accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Assist with the setup, operation, and breakdown of High Purity and Passivation equipment and systems.
  • Handle hoses, pumps, filtration systems, tanks, piping, and other project-related equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in the mixing, transferring, and handling of approved chemicals while strictly following established safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Support flushing, passivation, preservation, and other high-purity system cleaning activities under the direction of project leadership.
  • Monitor equipment performance and communicate any concerns or irregularities to supervisors promptly.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas throughout each project.
  • Load, unload, organize, and properly care for company tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and inspection of company equipment to ensure operational readiness.
  • Follow all company and customer safety requirements, including PPE, confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hazard communication, and other applicable procedures.
  • Travel to customer job sites as required, which may include extended travel assignments.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and reliability by reporting to work on time, maintaining regular attendance, and being prepared to perform assigned duties each day.
  • Maintain a positive attitude while working collaboratively with supervisors, coworkers, customers, and other trades.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support project success and operational needs.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Previous industrial, construction, manufacturing, or mechanical experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to safely lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness and ability to travel for project assignments, including overnight travel when necessary.
  • Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions and industrial environments.
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be able to successfully pass all required pre-employment and customer-required screenings.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

This position primarily works at industrial customer facilities and construction sites. Employees are regularly required to stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, reach, lift, and carry materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Work may be performed in confined spaces, elevated areas, and varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions. Employees must be able to safely work around industrial equipment, chemicals, and process systems while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators when required. Employees are expected to maintain excellent attendance, arrive prepared and on time for scheduled work assignments, and consistently demonstrate the professionalism and reliability expected of all RMR Mechanical employees
