Kleinfelder’s Geotechnical Services in Southern California is seeking Project Geotechnical Engineers / Engineering Geologists for Laguna Hills or Los Angeles offices. The role involves field exploration, design, and report preparation for commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects.

Ideal candidates have 6–10 years’ experience or 4 years with a Master’s or 2 years with a PhD, plus PE or PG licensure. Travel and multi-disciplinary teamwork are expected.

Qualifications

• 6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years with a Master's or 2 years with PhD.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License or Professional Geologist (PG) License
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Willingness to travel and perform field work in varied conditions
• Candidate must adhere to work assignments/schedules and be detail-oriented

Step Into Your New Role

The Southern California Area is seeking to add Project Geotechnical Engineers / Engineering Geologist to the team! These position can be based in Kleinfelder’s Laguna Hills or Los Angeles, California offices.

The ideal candidate will:

• Perform and develop scopes for field and office tasks (technical and non-technical) and independent analysis.
• Safely conduct field exploration, sampling, inspection, analysis and technical support under supervision.
• Coordinate tasks and small projects with guidance and interaction by senior operations/technical staff.
• Prepare designs, reports and calculations on complex projects for review.

We are looking for someone with the ability to provide quality technical support on commercial, municipal, transportation, energy and water projects. Experience on design/build projects preferred.

Strong analytical skills are required in areas including:

• soil and rock classification,
• slope stability analysis,
• earth retention systems,
• shallow and deep foundation design,
• materials testing and engineering
• soil improvement techniques, and
• pavement design.

Knowledge of infrastructure, drilling operations and heavy civil project design and construction are preferred.

Education & Experience:

• 6 to 10 years of related experience or 4 years related experience with a Master's or 2 years of related experience with PhD.
• Registered Professional Engineer (PE) License or Professional Geologist (PG) License
• Must have a positive work attitude and ability to work safely and efficiently when managing multiple tasks
• Ability to work independently or with a team in a multi-disciplinary environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Intermediate knowledge of MS Office, Including Word, Excel, and Power Point preferred
• The successful candidate will have the ability and willingness to travel and perform field work, even under inclement weather and physically demanding conditions.
• Position will require the candidate to adhere to work assignments/schedules, be self-motivated, organized and have a keen sense of detail.
• Candidate must be willing to work in addition to a standard 40-hour work week when needed.

Final agreed upon compensation is based upon individual qualifications and experience. Salary Range:$91,000 - $120,000.
