Job summary

Syneos Health is seeking a Project Financial Analyst II in Morrisville, NC to produce and present client reporting, analyze financial data, and support senior management with budgeting and forecasting. The role requires collaboration with global teams and delivering timely financial insights within a pharma/CRO environment.

The position emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and strong communication as part of a highly collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

  • Must have Pharmaceutical or CRO experience.
  • Ability to utilize protocol and subject data to forecast visits and costs.
  • Identify inconsistencies in data (e.g., currency errors or visit rate changes).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with Oracle Finance preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential data with discretion.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Produces and presents client reporting and facilitates customer-facing financial discussions.
  • Prepares, interprets and analyzes financial data, business metrics, and ad-hoc reports for global management.
  • Prepares key reports such as budgets, cost rates, forecasting, utilization, headcount, revenue backlog and gross profit for assigned area.
  • Develops and produces monthly financial reports and commentary for senior management.
  • Acts as a key contact for interpretation of financial results in the assigned area.
  • Provides financial insights to business growth trends and profitability.
  • Assists management with miscellaneous finance projects.
  • Develops and delivers financial reporting, controls and procedures for timely reporting.

Job Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
  • Produces and presents client reporting and facilitates customer-facing financial discussions to ensure clear financial communication and strong stakeholder engagement.
  • Prepares, interprets and analyzes financial data, business metrics, and ad-hoc reports for global management.
  • Prepares key reports such as annual cost and expense budgets, cost rates, cost and expense forecasting, monthly utilization, headcount, revenue backlog analysis, and/or gross profit for assigned area. Produces ad hoc reports as required.
  • Develops and produces monthly financial reports and commentary, as well as other financial analysis and metrics as required by senior management. Offers methods for improving results by reviewing timeliness, accuracy and efficiencies in reporting.
  • Serves as a key contact point for interpretation and investigation of financial results in assigned area.
  • Provides financial insights to business growth trends and profitability in assigned area.
  • Assists management and others within Finance department with miscellaneous projects as directed by supervisor.
  • Develops and delivers financial reporting, controls and procedures to ensure financial information is reported accurately and timely for group deadlines.
  • Updates and costs study budget based on updated trial specs
Additional Qualifications
  • Must have Pharmaceutical or CRO experience
  • Ability to utilize protocol and subject data to identify how to build subject visit forecast (i.e., split offorecast by multiple cohorts/arms, split by different subject status)
  • Identify inconsistency within data (i.e., significant change in visit rate for 1 site, currency error due to typo KWW instead of KRW)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential. Proficiency with accounting software packages is necessary and experience with Oracle Finance is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with confidential and sensitive data is required.
  • Requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, organizational, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
  • Excellent financial, communication, and interpersonal skills are required as well as a high level of personal motivation to achieve.
  • The ability to perform several tasks simultaneously to meet deadlines is necessary.
  • 2 years of financial relevant experience.
  • Experience in Pharma/CRO preferred.

Salary Range

$56,400.00 - $95,900.00

The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the Syneos Health range for this position. Actual salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
