Job summary

MWH Constructors seeks a Project Executive to lead our national portfolio from Las Vegas, NV. You will shape strategy, direct operations, and drive profitability across multiple projects while ensuring safety and compliance.

Ideal candidates have extensive senior management experience, P&L ownership, and a deep background in water/wastewater facilities. This role offers high impact and broad leadership across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering, construction management or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant management experience or equivalent.
  • Minimum 6 years of management with P&L responsibility.
  • Background in water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Results-oriented with ability to develop strategies and meet objectives.
  • Understanding of mitigating commercial risk to enhance opportunities.
  • Integrity and strong ethical standards.
  • Strong executive presence and personnel management skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with interpersonal aptitude.

Responsibilities

  • Establish objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards for project operations.
  • Support District Director and managers with business development and client relations.
  • Monitor and control construction to ensure schedule and budget adherence.
  • Manage contracts' financials and protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
  • Ensure staff use project planning techniques and provide input as required.
  • Ensure staffing aligns with project objectives within the profit model.
  • Be part of the risk management process and reviews.
  • Collaborate with finance, HR, marketing and other support functions.
  • Uphold safe work practices and company safety guidelines.

About the Role

MWHis currently seeking a qualified Project Executive to support our national portfolio of projects. This position will be based out of Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Project Executive will provide leadership, strategy and direction in support of existing and future project operations to include making decisions and recommendations that can greatly affect profitability of regional operations.

Essential Functions
  • Establish objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards for project operations, within the boundaries of corporate policy.
  • Support District Director, Operational/Regional Managers with business development, client relations, marketing, pursuit and project bid activities.
  • Monitor/control construction through administrative direction of Project Managers to ensure project is built on schedule and within budget; investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor financial aspects of contracts; e.g. fee payment, rental equipment, income/expenses, etc. Work with District Director, Operational/Regional Managers and Project Managers to protect company's interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with clients.
  • Ensure that all projects executed by staff incorporate the project planning techniques prescribed by the Management Administration Plan. Provide appropriate input and review as required.
  • Be accountable for ensuring projects are staffed with the appropriate resources and skill sets to achieve project objectives within company profit model.
  • Be an integral part of the risk management process and reviews.
  • Work closely with all members of the Constructors leadership team, including all support functions (Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, etc.).
  • Ensure all employees follow safe work practices and use company guidelines and policies for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
Basic Qualifications
  • B.S. Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or other related degree.
  • Minimum 15 years’ relevant management experience or equivalent skills and experience; demonstrated successful performance on complex and/or large projects, typically $100M+.
  • Minimum 6 years of management experience with profit and loss responsibility on an assigned project(s).
  • Background in water/wastewater treatment plants.
  • Results-oriented professional with proven ability to develop effective strategies, set target goals, and execute plans to meet financial and organization objectives.
  • Understanding of how to mitigate commercial risk to enhance opportunities for successful business and project performance.
  • Must have integrity and strong sense of ethical standards with a reputation of conducting business fairly and honestly.
  • Strong executive presence and personnel management skills with the ability to set direction, align and motivate others to achieve excellence.
  • Must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional interpersonal skills at all levels.
  • Strong sales and negotiation skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and oral; will be required to conduct presentations.
  • Effective computer skills including project management, spreadsheets, Prolog, and presentation software.
  • A strong record of safety and a commitment to the value of safety measures.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Construction Manager (CCM); or Project Management Professional (PMP)
Compensation:
  • Anticipated salary budgeted for this role is $200,000+ based on experience.
