Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking a Project Executive for the Manufacturing Center to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of manufacturing plant projects in the United States.

You will manage budgets, timelines, quality and safety, collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors and stakeholders to meet regulatory standards. The role requires leading large-scale projects up to $1B+, mentoring teams, and driving pursuit and preconstruction efforts.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract types.
  • 12–24 months of estimating or related experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of safety and environmental principles, procedures and legislation.
  • Deep knowledge of construction industry operations, safety and quality practices.
  • Experience with diverse project types, delivery methods and timelines.
  • Knowledge of construction laws, building codes and contract administration.
  • Experience leading client meetings and project pursuits.
  • Ability to manage complex subcontracts and purchase orders to mitigate risks.

  • Provide leadership for several small projects or one large, high‑complexity project.
  • Lead projects up to $1B+ or multiple hundred million dollar projects.
  • Oversee construction to meet design, budget and schedule.

  • Manage design deliverables, permits, procurement, shop drawings and commissioning with client signoff.
  • Attend design management meetings with the prime consultant.
  • Supervise and mentor project team across sites.
  • Manage complex project organizational structure.
  • Negotiate claims with owners and trade contractors.

The Manufacturing Plant Project Executive oversees the planning, coordination, and execution of construction projects for manufacturing plants. The role includes managing budgets, timelines, and quality assurance to ensure the successful completion of the construction projects. This position will work closely with architects, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to deliver projects that meet both the company's needs and regulatory standards.

Here's how a Project Executive, Manufacturing Center for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within US Head Office contributes to our team:

  • Creates and influences safety culture as a mentor and model. Participates in district safety committee and influences corporate safety policy and procedures.
  • Provides overall leadership and support for several small projects or one very large project with high complexity. Accountable for safety, budget, quality, schedule, and profitability performance.
  • Ability to lead $1B+ Projects or multiple hundred million dollar projects.
  • Oversees projects to ensure construction is as per design, budget, and schedule.
  • Leads to secure new work by participating as part of core pursuit/preconstruction team to contribute to estimate, proposal, and/or presentation.
  • Monitors and manages design deliverable schedule to facilitate and/or assist with permits, procurement, shop drawings, off-site production, construction and commissioning in conjunction with the review and signoff by the client.
  • Attends the design management meetings, led by the prime consultant, communicating PCL’s needs and requirements, and escape issues of concerns for resolution.
  • Supervises, directs, trains, and mentors project team, including direct and indirect reports on the same or multiple sites.
  • Manages complex project organizational structure.
  • Oversees and negotiates claims/disputes with owner and trade contractors with senior project manager and project managers.
  • Understands, communicates, and proactively manages contract and documents.
  • Travel Requirements: Up to 70% (Traveling Role)
Qualifications
  • Postsecondary education or training in engineering, construction management, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of progressive construction experience with multiple contract delivery types as a leader and mentor preferred.
  • 12- 24 months of estimating or related experience preferred.
  • Expert knowledge and application of safety and environment principles/procedures/legislation.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, methods and procedures, and safety and quality management practices for large, complex, and more diverse projects.
  • Experience with diverse project types, delivery and construction methods, and sequencing and timelines.
  • Expert knowledge of and ability to apply project construction laws and building codes and to leverage such knowledge.
  • Expert knowledge of collective agreements and jurisdiction assignment for multitrade sites.
  • Thorough understanding of insurance, bonding, and legal requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading effective project meetings with customer, consultants, and internal employees; experience presenting at client meetings or for project pursuit.
  • Ability to generate, review, and administer complex subcontracts and purchase orders, ensuring that all risks are mitigated and opportunities are identified.

The estimated salary range for this role is $162,500 - $210,500, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
