Project Executive – Data Center Construction – Kansas City, MO

This opportunity is with a leading provider of mission‑critical data center solutions as a Managed Services Provider and Ownership Representative for Construction Services. We are looking for a Data Center Construction Project Executive to support critical facility construction projects. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of a data center brownfield construction project, lead contractors and vendors, and ensure projects are delivered on budget, on time, and meet Company Design Standards and project objectives. The role requires exceptional organization and strong back‑office skills (change orders, budgets, paperwork, etc.).

Responsibilities:

• Maintain liaison with contractors and vendors to manage day‑to‑day activities that impact project delivery.
• Oversee a team of project managers who manage individual projects within the overall portfolio and provide guidance and direction.
• Apply solid project management experience to lead construction teams, including PMs and superintendents.
• Manage data center construction projects with budgets ranging from $50 MM to $500 MM+.
• Oversee multiple projects simultaneously and assist the Senior Project Manager in negotiating vendor contracts.
• Create and manage project schedules, plans, budgets, and change orders.
• Assist with reporting and RFPs to contractors.
• Deliver built‑to‑suit projects with a heavy emphasis on value engineering.
• Enforce company standards uniformly across all projects.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts (progress billing, rental equipment, income/expenses) to protect company interests while maintaining client relationships.
• Represent the company in project meetings.
• Act as the key liaison with managers of all company departments.
• Maintain all required logs to track project progress.
• Possess an extensive network within the mission‑critical data center market.
• Have a background in critical facilities design, architecture, engineering, and construction services.

Qualifications:

• Experience managing data center construction projects as an owner or a general contractor.
• Managed a diverse team of senior construction project managers on multi‑million‑dollar projects.
• Minimum of 8–15+ years of relevant experience in the data center construction industry, including MEP construction for critical facilities.
• Strong client‑facing, client‑relationship, and client‑management skills.
• PMP certification is a plus.
• Familiarity with the design process of building systems for data center and mission‑critical projects.
• Solid construction project management experience.
• Effective communication skills – email, phone, and face‑to‑face.
• Experience in the military is a huge plus (e.g., electrical, mechanical, power generation).
• Ability to work independently.
• Strong administrative skills (email, internet, Microsoft Office, MS Project).
