Position Summary

The Project Executive serves as a senior leader responsible for the successful execution of multiple construction projects from pre‑construction through close‑out. This individual will oversee Project Managers, Superintendents, and key operational personnel while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in paving, excavation, concrete, heavy civil construction, or a closely related field, along with strong leadership, scheduling, financial management, and client relationship skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for multiple construction projects simultaneously.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, owners, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Oversee project planning, scheduling, execution, and closeout activities.
  • Ensure project schedules are developed, maintained, updated, and communicated effectively to all stakeholders.
  • Work closely with Project Managers and field leadership to proactively identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, manpower challenges, equipment needs, and project risks.
  • Monitor project budgets, cost performance, billing, forecasting, and profitability.
  • Review contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Lead regular project review meetings to evaluate financial performance, production, safety, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support estimating and pre‑construction efforts, including bid reviews, project handoffs, and strategic planning.
  • Ensure projects maintain compliance with company standards, safety requirements, and contractual obligations.
  • Collaborate with operations leadership to optimize labor, equipment, and resource allocation across projects.
  • Mentor and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and future leaders within the organization.
  • Drive accountability, performance, and continuous improvement across project teams.
  • Assist in business development efforts by maintaining client relationships and identifying future opportunities.
Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in construction project management, operations management, or executive project leadership.
  • Demonstrated experience in paving, asphalt, concrete, excavation, site development, heavy civil construction, or a related field.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple large‑scale projects and project teams simultaneously.
  • Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, budgeting, forecasting, project controls, and contract administration.
  • Experience leading Project Managers, Superintendents, and field operations teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to make sound decisions in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Proficiency with construction management software, scheduling platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, and ERP systems.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Business, or related field.
  • Experience overseeing paving, excavation, concrete, and sitework operations across multiple projects.
  • Experience managing projects for commercial, industrial, municipal, or DOT clients.
