Job summary

Owen Thomas Group in Charlotte, NC seeks a seasoned Construction Project Manager to oversee the planning, management and execution of data center construction projects. You will assist in estimates, budgets and PMP development, and coordinate with teams to meet milestones and regulatory requirements.

The role requires 3+ years PM experience in Data Center Construction and 10+ years in construction, with a valid driver's license and deep knowledge of commercial construction processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management or related field required.
• Minimum of three or more years project management experience within Data Center Construction and 10+ years in the Construction industry.
• Valid driver's license with good driving record.
• In-depth knowledge of commercial construction processes.

Responsibilities

• Oversee planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects.
• Prepare estimates and budgets; lead PMP development.
• Coordinate value engineering, pre-award/pre-construction meetings, and subcontracts.
• Obtain permits and resolve regulatory requirements as needed.
• Develop project schedules and milestones with the project superintendent.
• Ensure procurement stays within budget and schedule constraints.
• Develop and monitor quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Monitor site performance for cost, safety, quality, and schedule.
• Negotiate owner and subcontractor change orders and assess cost/profit impact.

Job description

Responsible for the overall planning, management, and execution of work for assigned construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assists in the preparation of estimates for the project.
• Prepares project budgets and unit cost reports.
• Leads the project team in preparing the project management plan (PMP).
• Participates in value engineering services as appropriate.
• Organizes and conducts pre-award and pre-construction meetings.
• Participates in the negotiation and preparation of project subcontracts.
• Participates in obtaining permits and resolving other regulatory requirements as necessary.
• Prepares a project schedule and develops milestones necessary to successfully complete the project in concert with the project superintendent.
• Obtains plans and specifications and determines their completeness and consistency.
• Assists business development personnel as requested.
• Plans the successful execution of the construction contract.
• Manages project materials and equipment procurement within the project's budget constraints and consistent with the project delivery schedule.
• Develops and monitors project quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Monitors the project site for cost, safety, quality, and schedule performance with the project superintendent.
• Evaluates the schedule as necessary to meet milestones and financial goals.
• Negotiates owner and subcontractor change orders and manages the resulting cost and profit impact.
