JOB DESCRIPTION
Primary purpose

The Estimator / Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing cost estimates and project schedules for large-scale EPC projects. This role ensures that project timelines and budgets are accurate, competitive, and aligned with project scope, industry standards, and market conditions. The Estimator Scheduler collaborates closely with engineering, procurement, and construction teams, supporting project controls, proposal efforts, and the successful execution of complex projects.

Experience / Specific Knowledge
  • 10+ years of combined experience in cost estimating and project scheduling for large EPC projects (petrochemical, LNG, oil & gas, power, or infrastructure).
  • Must have extensive experience in Major Projects with a growth portfolio of USD 1 Billion plus.
  • Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project scheduling software.
  • Strong background in developing detailed cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Experience with project controls, risk management, and schedule/cost analysis.
  • Knowledge of EPC contract types, procurement strategies, and industry standards (e.g., AAC,CSI)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

Essential duties and responsibilities
Cost Estimating
  • Lead the development of comprehensive cost estimates (FEL 1, FEL 2, and detailed estimates) from concept through execution.
  • Analyze project scope, route complexity, terrain, environmental factors, and schedule impacts to produce reliable estimates.
  • Prepare quality take-offs, labor, material, equipment, and other direct cost estimates.
  • Maintain and update cost databases, utilize historical data to improve estimate accuracy.
  • Review vendor and contractor bids for compliance with project scope and financial expectations.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to communicate project proposals, estimates, and status updates to stakeholders.
  • Identify and analyze factors influencing cost, including direct and indirect cost, and review these findings with upper management to support decision-making.
  • Compile and review engineering reports, ensuring all scope elements are properly included.
Schedule Development & Management
  • Develop, maintain, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6, OPC and Microsoft Project.
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to ensure alignment of schedules with project scope and deliverables.
  • Analyze schedule impacts, constraints, and risk, to recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Assess progress and quality of project controls work, providing accurate forecasts and completion estimates.
  • Review and validate project schedule estimates for accuracy and feasibility.
  • Knowledge of project controls principles earned value management (EVM) and familiarity with critical path method (CPM).
  • Integration of contractors schedules and assist with time impact analysis related to change orders or scope adjustments.
  • Proficient in use of Excel to develop progress curves and data analytics.
