Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Project Equipment Manager for a LaPorte, IN data center project. You will manage all equipment-related matters, schedule and inspections, and coordinate repairs and maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant work experience may compensate.
• Mobile Crane Inspector Certification required/desired.
• Rigging Certification required/desired.
• Crane assembly/disassembly director training/qualification.
• Minimum 7 years in supervising equipment fleets.
• Mechanical systems knowledge for construction equipment; troubleshoot hydraulics/electrical/pneumatic systems.
• Familiarity with DOT rules and OSHA safety regulations.
• Proficient with Outlook and work order/windows systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and track equipment schedules, requests, end dates, transfers, and certifications.
• Oversee daily equipment inspections and reviews.
• Authorize repairs under $5,000 and coordinate with REM for RA’s.
• Oversee equipment/vehicle repairs and maintenance, ensure timely inspections.
• Ensure vehicle inspections and emissions meet requirements for onsite fleet.
• Collaborate with OEMs, dealers, and vendors on repair processes from start to finish.
• Coordinate Product Improvement Program updates; request OEM warranties/claims.
• Manage national vendor accounts and maintain vendor relationships.
• Review rental and purchase contracts; update equipment/vehicle meters weekly.
• Manage Crane Inspection Program (shift, monthly, annual).
• Administer DOT Driver Qualification, DVIRs, and Log Books for all CMVs.
• Schedule and manage preventative maintenance events for equipment/vehicles.
• Handle hiring/firing/discipline and performance for direct reports.
• Support Regional Equipment Manager on special projects.
