Langan is seeking an Environmental Project Manager to join its collaborative team in Houston, TX. This role focuses on managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals with emphasis on Air Quality, conducting research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory work.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology or Science; Master’s degree with Environmental emphasis preferred.
  • PE or PG Certification.
  • 8+ years of work related experience.
  • Strong people, project, and client management skills.
  • Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software.
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Excellent public speaking, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail with analytical, multitasking, and judgement capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects.
  • Supervise field activities and ensure correct interpretations of findings; data collection and laboratory analyses completed correctly, within budget, and on time.
  • Manage and deliver multiple projects and tasks within budgets, schedules, and deadlines; prepare progress reports, draft change orders, invoices, and assist in payments collections.
  • Organize, write, and edit reports, draft proposals, and other documents.
  • Identify and pursue new clients; develop additional work within existing projects and attend business development meetings.
  • Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff; coach, train, and motivate staff; participate in interviewing and hiring.
  • Coordinate other work groups across offices or disciplines as needed; interface with clients, contractors, and project personnel.
  • Participate in technical presentations and produce articles for publications.

Job Summary

Langan is seeking an Environmental ProjectManager to join its collaborative team in Houston, TX. This individual will serve a key function in managing environmental/engineering projects and proposals with a focus on Air Quality, conducting engineering research and analysis, and supervising field investigations and laboratory analysis. In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage diverse projects, solve problems and overcome challenges in restoring the environment and returning blighted properties to productive re-use while protecting and enhancing the environment.

Job Responsibilities
  • Performcomplex analyses for specific portions of broader engineering and environmental projects;
  • Supervisefield activities and ensurecorrect interpretations of findings. Ensurethat data collection and laboratory analyses are completed correctly, within budget, and on time;
  • Manageand deliveron multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepareprogress reports and draft change orders.Preparedraft invoices, project billings, and assistin payment collections;
  • Effectively organize, write, and editreports, draft proposals, and other documents;
  • Participatein the identification and pursuit of new clients, learnto develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;
  • Providedirect oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivatestaff assigned to Environmental projects. Participatein interviewing and hiring staff;
  • Coordinateother work groups within the same or different office locations and/or within the same or different disciplines on an as-needed basis;
  • Interfaceeffectivelyand professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors, and others. Actively participate in internal and external technical presentations and producewritten articles for internal and external publications; and
  • Performother duties as requested.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geology or Science; Master’s degree with Environmental emphasis preferred;
  • PE or PG Certification;
  • 8+ years of work related experience;
  • Strong people, project, and client management skills;
  • Knowledge of quantitative/technical analyses and related software;
  • Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements;
