Job description

Engineering Leadership & Independent Technical Judgment:

Plan, direct, and manage the technical engineering and execution lifecycle of wastewater and water infrastructure projects by applying advanced engineering principles, project management methodologies, and independent professional judgment. Review and validate engineering drawings, specifications, and design documents across civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure technical feasibility, regulatory compliance, and alignment with contract requirements. Exercise independent judgment to resolve design conflicts, technical challenges, sequencing constraints, and complex design deviations encountered during project execution.

Engineering Oversight of Systems Integration:

Lead and direct the engineering aspects of systems integration, testing, and commissioning for wastewater treatment facilities, including pump stations, pipelines, reinforced concrete structures, mechanical systems, and process equipment. Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities to ensure proper system interoperability, operational readiness, and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and owner requirements. Perform high-level technical evaluations, engineering audits, and design reviews to verify that project deliverables conform to approved engineering designs, material specifications, and industry standards. Engineering-Based Cost, Schedule & Risk Control: Analyze programmatic performance related to schedule, cost, and resource utilization and recommend technical corrective actions using engineering analysis and project controls. Review and technically evaluate RFIs, submittals, and design change requests to assess their impact on design integrity, engineering feasibility, cost, and schedule. Identify engineering, operational, and systemic risks, and develop mitigation strategies using historical project data, trend analysis, and engineering performance indicators.

Engineering Systems & Data Analytics:

Utilize engineering and project information systems such as Primavera, Procore, BIM platforms, AutoCAD, and Power BI to manage engineering data, analyze progress, and support technical decision-making. Analyze engineering data related to design efficiency, cost trends, and performance metrics to improve engineering workflows and project controls. Implement digital engineering workflows, automation tools, and data-driven systems to enhance engineering coordination, reporting accuracy, risk identification, and real-time project visibility.

Technical Coordination & Functional Leadership:

Lead and coordinate the technical activities of engineers, other specialists, specialty subcontractors, and consultants to ensure engineering intent is properly executed. Provide technical guidance and oversight to project teams regarding engineering standards, design interpretation, digital tools, and documentation practices. Facilitate engineering coordination among multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely resolution of technical issues, consistent reporting, and successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related field of study AND 60 months of prior experience as Project Engineering Manager, Project Manager, Project Engineer, or related occupation.
