What You Will Do
The Project Engineer is responsible for executing the customer's statement-of-work, ensuring flawless, on-time deliveries. You will act as the liaison between technical and program teams to define, plan, and manage the project plans (scope, schedule, budget, resources, purchased services, etc.) for all aspects of the project (design, analysis, manufacturing development, hardware procurement, verification, etc.). The role includes control account management and reporting to Program Leads.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare plans, schedules, cost estimates, etc. for new/revised scope.
- Use the change management process, prepare and present proposed scope changes to the Program Change Board, and prepare Program Change Requests to formally incorporate scope, cost and schedule changes.
- Identify and score project risks and define associated risk mitigation plans and timelines.
- Generate Statements of Work to support engineering outsourcing and authorize the outsourced work.
- Report project progress to Technical Lead and Program Management.
- Prepare and present presentations such as customer reviews and variance reviews.
- Manage project scheduling in Excel, BusinessMap or MS Project (or similar).
- Review documents for completeness, accuracy, and consistency to standards.
- Perform technical writing for document cleanup, error correction, and format updates.
- Coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to resolve technical issues and fill content gaps.
- Coordinate approval and sign‑offs of design and review documentation, upload into appropriate systems.
- Gather engineering technical data to develop review presentations.
- Support review meetings, scheduling, presentation support, and action‑item closure.
- Maintain traceability in Product Data Management system.
- Propose, analyze and implement cost improvement initiatives.
- Assist in developing change implementation schedules.
- Manage change implementation.
- Develop business cases for reduction activities.
- Track schedule and cost metrics.
- Serve as Customer point of contact, report weekly status, conduct quality and progress reviews, solicit Customer Satisfaction Feedback.
- Collaborate with technical leaders and SMEs to ensure high technical quality and team development.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in an engineering technical field.
- Experience with business administration, project management, and controls engineering is a plus.
- 1–5+ years of career experience.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience in leading project presentations.
- Ability to lead cross‑functional teams and work independently.
- Financial management and commercial awareness.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Pay Range
$70,000 to $80,000 per annum. Compensation decisions are based on experience, skills, education, and other job‑related factors. Additional benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and retirement plan.
Work Requirements
- Must be able to commute to an on‑site location in Indianapolis, IN, USA.
- Ability to work in a shop‑floor environment with extensive walking and lift up to 40 lbs.
