Job summary

AH Engineering Consultants seeks a Project Engineer to join our water and wastewater practice in the Jacksonville area. You will work on municipal infrastructure projects across planning and design, collaborating with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver practical, compliant solutions.

The ideal candidate has 2–10 years of relevant design experience, a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, and strong communication skills.

• 2–10 years of water/wastewater design experience.
• Experience delivering municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Support design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects including pump stations and pipelines.
• Prepare or oversee engineering reports, specifications, construction drawings, and cost estimates.
• Manage projects through design and provide support during bidding and construction phases.
• Support design oversight and quality control for project deliverables.
• Support permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and business development efforts.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.

We are seeking a talented and motivated Water/Wastewater Design Engineer to join our consulting team. The ideal candidate has 2 to 10 years of experience delivering planning and design solutions for municipal water and wastewater infrastructure projects. This role offers the opportunity to support meaningful projects, collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams, and help shape critical community infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the planning and design of water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including pump stations, storage systems, pipelines, and related utility improvements.
• Prepare or oversee engineering reports, technical specifications, construction drawings, and cost estimates.
• Manage projects through design and provide support during bidding and construction phases.
• Support design oversight and quality control for project deliverables.
• Support permitting and regulatory compliance for municipal water and wastewater projects.
• Participate in client meetings, proposal development, and business development efforts.
• Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• 2-10 years of experience in water/wastewater engineering design, preferably in a consulting environment.
• Strong experience with municipal water and wastewater systems design.
• Proven ability to prepare plans, specifications, engineering reports, and design calculations.
• Knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal regulations.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines effectively.

$80,000 - $140,000 a year
