Job summary

R.R.P. Consulting Engineers in Texas seeks an experienced Civil Engineer to lead and support interstate highway and roadway design projects, from initial concept through final design.

You will collaborate with project managers, design teams, and clients to ensure delivery of quality civil engineering solutions, leveraging MicroStation, GEOPAK and OpenRoads. This role requires strong communication and independent as well as team work abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• PE license in Texas is required.
• 5+ years’ experience on transportation/roadway projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with design, analysis, and production of complex interstate highway/roadway design projects.
• Design and analyze roadway and civil engineering projects from concept to final design.
• Perform civil design calculations, develop reports, plans, specs, and cost estimates.
• Lead and coordinate with staff, subcontractors, and clients to deliver roadway activities.
• Coordinate with project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to complete projects.
• Attend design review meetings with staff and clients and own projects from start to finish.

Job description

• Bachelor of Science Degree, Civil Engineering is required
• Professional Engineer (PE) licensed in Texas
• 5+ years of experience on transportation and roadway projects
• Proficient in MicroStation, GEOPAK, Openroads
• Flexible to changes in work assignments as changes occur in project needs
• Proven experience in handling multiple tasks and deadlines
• Strong communication skills to interact with clients and internal employees
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and coordinate with multiple disciplines

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers with design, analysis, and production of complex interstate highway/roadway design projects
• Responsible for the design and analysis of roadway and other civil engineering projects
• Must be able to take the design from the initial concept to the final design
• Responsible for performing civil engineering design calculations, developing reports, plans, specifications and cost estimates as well as preparing final bid packages
• Lead and coordinate with other staff, subcontractors and clients to deliver roadway and highway design project activities
• Coordinate and work with a team of project managers, design engineers, technicians, and support staff to successfully complete a variety of projects
• Attend design review meetings with staff and clients and take ownership of the projects from start to finish
