The Project Engineer works under the direction of the Senior Project Engineer and supports coordination between internal engineering teams, third-party consultants, construction teams, and project stakeholders. The role supports projects through 30%, 60%, 90%, IFC, construction, commissioning, and as-built stages while helping ensure engineering deliverables are complete, coordinated, and delivered on schedule.Key Responsibilities:Engineering Project SupportSupport engineering execution for assigned solar PV and BESS projects through design, construction, commissioning, and closeout.Track engineering schedules, deliverables, design reviews, comments, and action items.Coordinate with civil, electrical, structural, geotechnical, and other engineering disciplines.Review engineering documents for completeness, coordination, constructability, and compliance with project requirements.Identify and escalate technical issues, design conflicts, and schedule concerns to the Senior Project Engineer.BESS & Energy Storage SupportSupport engineering activities for utility-scale BESS projects throughout design, construction, and commissioning.Review BESS equipment, drawings, specifications, and submittals, including PCS, transformers, switchgear, HVAC, fire protection, EMS, and SCADA.Support coordination of BESS integration with PV, MV systems, substations, POI, and utility interconnection requirements.Assist with coordination of stand-alone, AC-coupled, and DC-coupled BESS projects.Third-Party Engineering CoordinationSupport coordination of EOR and specialty engineering firms, including deliverables, schedules, and design comments.Participate in design review meetings and track comments through 30%, 60%, 90%, and IFC milestones.Review consultant deliverables and identify outstanding issues for resolution.Assist with coordination of civil, structural, electrical, BESS, controls, fire protection, and other specialty engineering.Construction & Commissioning SupportSupport the Construction team with RFIs, field questions, design changes, and engineering issues.Review construction drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements.Participate in construction meetings, site visits, commissioning activities, and punch-list resolution.Support installation, testing, and commissioning of PV, BESS, and associated electrical infrastructure.Procurement & Equipment SupportSupport Procurement with technical specifications, equipment requirements, and engineering documentation.Review equipment selections, vendor drawings, and submittals for compliance with project requirements.Support technical coordination for PV modules, inverters, BESS, PCS, transformers, switchgear, MV equipment, racking/tracking, SCADA, EMS, and protection systems.Identify and communicate engineering impacts associated with equipment or design changes.Closeout & DocumentationTrack resolution of outstanding engineering and construction issues.Assist with incorporation of design changes into final project documentation.Review and coordinate as-built drawings, commissioning records, and engineering documentation.Support project turnover to Operations, Asset Management, and O&M.Qualifications:RequiredBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related technical field.2+ years of engineering experience, preferably in solar, renewable energy, BESS, electrical infrastructure, or related fields.Experience reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, calculations, equipment submittals, and technical documentation.Understanding of solar PV electrical systems and utility-scale renewable energy projects.Strong organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet project deadlines.Ability to work effectively with engineering consultants, construction teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders.PreferredExperience with utility-scale or community solar projects.BESS experience, including stand-alone, AC-coupled, or DC-coupled systems.Experience with BESS OEMs/integrators, PCS, EMS, SCADA, or battery management systems.Experience with utility-scale MV systems, substations, protection, and controls.Experience with PV racking/tracking systems or utility interconnection.Construction or commissioning experience.Familiarity with applicable NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and other renewable energy standards.Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progress toward PE licensure.Benefits:Medical, Dental and Vision Benefits, including generous company provided premium supportPaid Vacation Time – 3 weeks to startRetirement savings planCompensation:Salary Range: $100,000-$125,000 USDBonus: TBD% of annual salaryEqual Opportunity Employer:At PureSky Energy, we know that fostering an inclusive workplace, which values diversity, inclusion, and belonging is paramount to our success.
