Job summary

Pape-Dawson Engineers in Atlanta seeks a Project Engineer to lead the design and coordination of site and commercial development projects. You will produce site layouts, grading, utilities, and drainage plans, applying civil engineering principles to deliver feasible, buildable designs.

You will mentor junior engineers, prepare plans and cost estimates, coordinate with clients and regulators, and support permitting and project schedules to meet milestones.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree.
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in land development or civil site design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and Microsoft Office.
• Familiarity with grading, utility, and drainage design standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for civil site projects.
• Develop grading, drainage, and utility designs in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Conduct feasibility analyses and layout studies for site optimization.
• Support permitting efforts with reports, exhibits, and technical responses.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and regulatory entities.
• Perform quality reviews of design deliverables.
• Guide junior engineers and review their technical work.
• Prepare drainage studies and utility service reports.
• Manage task-level schedules and project milestones.
• Attend client meetings and contribute to project planning.

Overview:

The Project Engineer leads the design and coordination of site / commercial development projects. Applies advanced civil engineering knowledge to produce site layouts, grading, utilities, and drainage plans.
