Job summary

MasTec Civil in Orlando, FL, seeks an experienced Project Engineer for heavy civil roadway/structures construction. You will provide technical engineering information to project supervision and crafts to ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, codes and specifications.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management.
• 5+ years of experience in the civil construction field on roadway projects.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
• Review project contracts, plans and specifications in their entirety.
• Prepare project schedules and monthly updates.
• Prepare quantity reporting, project costs, cash flow projections and forecasting.
• Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve project challenges and technical issues.
• Prepare and submit Prime and Subcontractor Change Orders.
• Manage document control including submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
• Prepare and maintain technical submittal lists, NPDES permits, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required.
• Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner/engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, and claims.
• Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plans/specs affect products or services.
• Assist with project closeout.
• Perform additional assignments per Project Manager's direction.
