Overview

MasTec Civil is seeking an experienced Project Engineer in the heavy civil/roadway construction field that will provide technical engineering information to project supervision and crafts to ensure construction work complies with all safety regulations, engineering standards, codes and specifications.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure that construction crews comply with all OSHA regulations and company safety policies
  • Review Project Contracts, Plans and Specifications in their entirety
  • Prepare Project Schedule and monthly updates
  • Prepare quantity reporting, project costs cash flow projections and forecasting
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and workforce to resolve project challenges, conflicts, and/or technical issues
  • Prepare and submit Prime and Subcontractor Change Orders
  • Manage document control to include submittal schedules, contract documents, project record drawings, etc.
  • Prepare and maintain technical submittal list, NPDES permits, Storm, Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, and Project Progress Schedule as required
  • Comply with notice requirements such as inspections, survey staking, joint measurements with owner and/or engineer, utility locations and adjustments, testing, claims, etc.
  • Issue correspondence to subcontractors and vendors when revised plan and/or specifications affects products or services
  • Assist with project closeout
  • Perform additional assignments per the Project Manager's direction
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Construction Engineering and Management
  • 4 or more years of experience in the civil construction field on a roadway project(s)
